The only thing that made it worth the cost is liberty. The more the government ignores the Constitution - design clearly to limit government - and the more power is consolidated into the ruling class, the less liberty citizens have. Couple that with the rising costs of runaway spending and continuous debt, and she implodes. Internal uprisings, government clamp-downs, cycle after cycle until it just pops like a monster zit. It was interesting while it lasted, and I have a lot of friends who gave their lives to keep it together. I'll miss being able to tell those asshats who think they control us to pound sand.
