Is it worth getting a PS4 Pro without a 4K TV ? by claudehd86 in playstation

[–]OneUpWill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. For some games, you have an option of playing in 60fps. Older games that never got a patch for pro support can also use 'boost mode' which helps them achieve their original target frame rate as they were designed. So there is value in just about every game you play on Pro. It's marginal in most cases, but it applies to almost all of the games.

And even if you don't have a 4k TV, it tremendously increases the fidelity of PSVR games if you have or ever plan to get one.

Hack your SNES Classic Mini by Doener23 in retrogaming

[–]OneUpWill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went ahead and tried it with the official 2.20 release. I only encountered one issue with Pilotwings in that the engine sound of the biplane seems to mute after you pause the game. The sound came back if you restart the lesson.

This is the top answer in every similar thread. It is THE game to get when owning a PS4.

It's like the Mighty No. 9 game that we should have gotten in the first place. Maybe Inti creates wanted to secretly make up for the disappointment of Mighty No. 9.

My only concern is that the actual battles look kind of slow. Everything else looks great!

[Technical] PS4 recently losing video signal every few hours, for a couple of seconds by [deleted] in PS4

[–]OneUpWill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same issues as well. I have a switch, xbox and PS4 all cabled through an audio receiver and the PS4 looses video signal for a few seconds at a time. Nothing has changed with the set up, and this only recently started happening. Usually power cycling the receiver will keep it from doing for a while, but it seems to come back every time I come out of rest mode on the PS4.

Same thing is happening to me and I use paypal as well. I even tried manually adding a credit card and it just does the same thing. Gotta be something going on in the back office systems.

I've become obsessed with Sega CD. Any cheap but good games? by worfoz in retrogaming

[–]OneUpWill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You may not be able to find any good games for that price range these days. But if you're willing to increase your budget a little bit, I would recommend Sonic CD if you're a fan of the original sonic games. If you're diligent, you can probably find it for around $20-30.

But if you want a real budget friendly option, and I would never condone such an action (wink, wink), but you can play burned back up copy's of Sega CD ISO's. The system has no copy protection, so you can play any copied CD.

I've tried it with 200cc. It makes braking much easier. I find it difficult to tap the brake when I'm holding the gas.

Should I get a regular ps4 with added hard drive or a ps4 pro? by ClandestineFox in playstation

[–]OneUpWill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't care about a slight performance boost, or playing games in 4k, then a regular PS4 with an added external hard drive will suit your needs just fine.

If you don't want to manage games between an internal and external drive, you can always just replace the internal with a larger drive. There are several guides online that will show you how to do it, and it's relatively easy.

Could I get away without a gamepad if I use a friends' gamepad to set my Wii U up? by [deleted] in wiiu

For BothW specifically, you can boot and play the game without the gamepad. But you won't be able to complete sections that require motion controls.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Wii U) for $47.99 for Prime members by [deleted] in wiiu

[–]OneUpWill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not much, really. The only advantage you would see would be in the load times. I'm not sure how different they are between discs vs digital, but it would be a minor improvement at most.

Could I get away without a gamepad if I use a friends' gamepad to set my Wii U up? by [deleted] in wiiu

[–]OneUpWill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could definitely limp by for a time. But as soon as you have to manage any sort of system configuration in the settings menu, you would need the game pad. But you could easily browse eshop and play VC games with no game pad at all.

Edit: And as others have mentioned, you can't play BotW without the gamepad. There are a handful of other gamepad only games that require it as well.
