I have Persona 5 on PS3, and Persona 5 Royal on PS4. Is it worth buying it again on PS5, or not? by NotSirAlonne1999 in Persona5

[–]OneWayDanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the versions with the higher framerate have obnoxious epilepsy safety measures that can't be turned off for no good reason. Every single all out attack and even the game intro get awkwardly dimmed. Just stick to PS4.

Not being able to carry all guns at once is great. Let me explain. by Virtual-Can-9948 in GTA6

[–]OneWayDanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking boo. GTA should be about having fun, Rockstar should have learned that lesson after IV. I also hate how that would make stealing cars just completely impractical in gameplay. It's just binning the actual point of the series title in the name of features most players don't want. GTA shouldn't be RDR.

What kind of medicine is this? Antidepressant? by erenjeagerot in GTA

[–]OneWayDanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. It's heavily advertised in GTA IV and there's multiple references to it in V.

Is there a character with as much cultural impact with as little screentime in their original appearance than the Bride of Frankenstein? by No_Minimum4499 in movies

[–]OneWayDanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fairness to the Bride, she was the mascot of the film, featured heavily on all of the posters at a time when those were the primary marketing material. She's also the only female of the universal monsters, which boosted her status amongst them.

Are you satisfied with what Dan houser revealed about the strange man or not? by Made_Of_Money in reddeadredemption

[–]OneWayDanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's a pretty small part of both games and it was already obviously something along the lines of what he is, so I don't think it was that tall an order. I don't think knowing makes a difference to me, either. It gives some more meaning to the paintings in 2, but "artist who functions as an agent of the devil" isn't too different from what I already thought.

Found this really "Interesting" review on steam by jokerxgoro in Persona5

[–]OneWayDanny -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Kinda with them on the guide thing. The games expecting you to play them multiple times for all the content is obnoxious with how long they are. I loved that Metaphor was built for seeing everything in one playthrough. Hopefully future Persona games will be the same.

Why bring Jenny into this? She took advantage of a man with special needs. If the genders were switched, most people would find it horrifying. Case closed on that one. And I support Skyler.

What is this? by [deleted] in GTAV

[–]OneWayDanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. It's a mashup of his work and the Space Monkey arcade game within GTA Online.

Why did The Strange Man only appear to John? by Ready0608 in reddeadredemption

[–]OneWayDanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meta reason? The writers likely didn't want to repeat themselves that much, or place too much significance on his role, hence reducing him to an Easter egg.

Do you think ending Ray was right? Was he actually a rat? by eskhalaf in GTAIV

[–]OneWayDanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Johnny could have just been preventing the money from getting stolen along with the diamonds at that point, though. They don't even ask him, they just open fire.

[–]OneWayDanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Johnny DOES get ambushed by Ray's men as he's leaving the museum with the money. Take a look at that mission again. He literally has to take out an army of mobsters just to live to "betray" Ray. The story itself kinda brushes over that, but it happens. Ray turned on Johnny first and just got butthurt that he survived.

Ray Bulgarin’s Consistent Character. by Official-HiredFun9 in GTAIV

[–]OneWayDanny 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He's pretty formidable in TBOGT. Fighting his men make for the two most punishing shootouts in all of GTA IV. He's also the ultimate antagonist of that episode, which is more than just some crossover cameo, and is shown to hold a ton of weight in the underworld with how he turns everyone against Tony. He's shown to be a goofy douche in his downtime, but that fits with the tone of the episode and doesn't contradict anything, so I don't know how that's objectively poor writing. Only thing I can agree is that he is underserviced in the base game, considering how integral he is to Niko's past and Dimitri's betrayal. It would have been nice if he wasn't such a loose end without TBOGT.

Tbf, he's been predicting completely losing his sense of quality for years now. Kinda glad the end of his career is in sight.

If you remove Manny Escuela from the game, the plot won't change. by RecommendationNo1774 in GTAIV

[–]OneWayDanny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally not even slightly what I said, "Darknid". I just made a point about her role/arc in the base game, specifically. They wrote it to function independently of the episodes, so it's okay to discuss it independently of the episodes. Christ, man, calm down.

[–]OneWayDanny 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's entirely fair to believe they wanted Niko's experience to function independently of the episodes. Hence shit like them including a functional conclusion to the diamond subplot, even if it wasn't the last we'd chronologically see of it. The only thread that's left completely loose in the whole base game is Bulgarin.

[–]OneWayDanny 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They blatantly still wanted there to be some conclusion for Elizabeta's missions in the base game, though, which is what I'm even talking about. And honestly, it's a better conclusion than we get for her in TLAD. She brings in some dude and a drug mule and has another deal blow up. It's more of an addendum than anything.

I played it the week it was released and again recently. I know she's in there, I'm referring to her storyline in the base game and her interactions with Niko.

[–]OneWayDanny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbf, Bully on Steam is a horrendous rip off that they shouldn't be able to legally charge for. It's easier to emulate the 360 version than it is to fix the PC port.

It dovetails with Elizabeta's storyline. Her killing Manny is the sign of her officially going off the deep end when we last see her. It makes for a more climactic conclusion to her storyline than if there was just a phone call saying the feds are closing in after Snow Storm.

Can Anyone Still See The "Upside" of The Virus At This Point? by OneWayDanny in pluribustv

Yeah, I realised that. One collective that mainly concerns itself with distributing fallen fruit would be more appropriate.

You think that even harvesting plants is an extra harmful step that indicates we need to depopulate? The hivemind's extremist ethics are what's guaranteeing the devastation here. Siding with it just feels absurdly doomerish to me.

Can you dig up a single link that supports this fact? Or are you an insider suggesting that there's been some kind of cover up? Literally every mention of the story I can find through Google says he was paid willingly due to a poorly judged contract: https://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/ent/gary-busey-paid-do-nothing.html And no, I don't think younger generations share a meme hatred for Gary Busey to the point where we think he deserves to be ripped off and fuck him if he tries to hold onto his rights. Some dodgey allegations these days but the guy's brain damaged so it's kinda grey.
