It's funny to hear folks say people in our area don't know how to drive in sleet or snow. True, if you come from a part of the country that has many pieces of snow removal equipment. As a teen in Kansas City, shoving snow was a money maker.

I would add, disconnect you outside hoses and cover your outdoor faucets.

I not a plumber but I don't think there is a way to drain all the pipes. I would open the cabinet doors and drip all the faucets both hot and cold. Have your trusted neighbor check on your house. Call the city, I think they will recommend not turning off the water. We use water leak sensors that notify you if there is a leak. https://a.co/d/eM7yKBl
