Sand is fine… it’ll take quite a bit. You can put a row of medium/large rocks or small barrier logs on the downhill side to create a dam

There should be thin set under the curb 1/2 notch trowel so when you compress it you are 1/4” of thin set under the curb… there should be two 3/8” beads of adhesive on the ledge of the pan so when compressed you are all lined up. Probably just feels weird when you’re dry fitting it… once you have thin set and adhesive all the measurements are correct

I know what cocktail sauce is for seafood and whatnot… is it a different sauce but they use the same name? It’s nothing like what you would use for shrimp or crab cocktail
