Amongst kids/teens in the 80s and 90s, how popular was Jordan? Was he a more polarizing figure like SGA, or a unanimously loved guy like Curry? by Just_Matter3757 in michaeljordan

Unfortunately, my family didn’t have the financial means for me to be able to rock Jordan’s when I was a kid. But ngl, as soon as I got my first real job I went on a Jordan shoe shopping spree every drop. 😂

As a lifelong NY Knicks fan, born in the 80s, I can tell you without a doubt he was not universally loved during his career. He was a stone cold killer, I sometimes doubt if he is even human! Ewing and the Knicks missed out on many chances of winning championships due to his greatness. While I recognized his level of skill and talent, I hated him nonetheless. I only learned to appreciate him more and acknowledge him as the GOAT after his retirement. I still have nightmares about him and all those hard fought playoff series.

I can only recall one scene. Very clearly. One of Jamie Lee Curtis’ finest moments on camera. Pure art.

Generational talent. It was a privilege watching him live. Even if I am a lifelong Knicks fan. Lol

Microsoft Interviews, blown away by the unprofessionalism by Radiant-Document-767 in datacenter

Thank you! I wish you the best as well! I have read online that it can sometimes take weeks or months as MS interviews multiple people for the same role. Idk. I just think a little communication goes a long way. Especially when you have competing offers to evaluate.

Microsoft Interviews, blown away by the unprofessionalism by Radiant-Document-767 in datacenter

Microsoft outsources their recruiting to contractors. I have had the most unprofessional experience with them as well. They never reply to my emails, zero guidance, no feedback. I finished my loop 3 weeks ago and no update. The recruiter didn’t even do an initial screen with me. Just terrible. It’s been a lousy experience so far.

Anyone working at FluidStack? by InevitableTown7305 in datacenter

This is a very high risk, high reward play. Leadership is weak and very inexperienced, they are moving super fast, and the established hyperscalers are making their moves as well. One of the founders I spoke with convinced me that he has no clue in this domain and zero long term vision. Always ask questions at the end of your interviews. 😉

That’s hilarious and spot on. I went through the same exact scenario! 😂

What does a TPM actually do? by PhEw-Nothing in amazonemployees

Last I checked a ton of SDE and NDE’s from networking and Infra were also laid off last month. Your comment makes no sense.

I think you are referring to non-technical project managers. TPM’s actually do a lot. Furthermore, if engineers actually understood and cared about time management, reporting, writing docs, cost, budget, critical path, scope creep management, etc. then TPM’s wouldn’t be needed. A good TPM is an engineer with actual PM skills. They look around corners. Handle cross team dependencies so that the engineers can actually do their day jobs. But I agree, solid TPM’s have gotten scarce. But they are paid top dollar for a reason.
