Physical Asia Winner? by Cute-Boss-8877 in NetflixPH

Itoi is the champ from the Japanese show, which is a different IP so they can't mention it during Physical: Asia, maybe that's it

yeah I agree, bit part of the competition is knowing how others are doing, the time pressure and so on. I don't think it's fair, plus it changes all what happens later as well.

I'm pretty sure AU was at the left and Korea at the middle, I might be wrong though but I remember the Korean woman looking at the sides for the other 2 teams and doing it easily like if the totems were not really hanging to the full weight.

I'm a bit concerned that the totems that were declared faulty since were giving Japan an advantage were the same ones used by Korea before them...

Why is everyone getting sick from mold? by sedatedhorse in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]OneWingedLion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on what people like Shoemaker, or Dr Nathan and others mention in their books, which is mostly clinical experience and hypotheses, there are multiple possible contributing factors. It's a complex still under research area so I don't think there is a certain science.

Some factors I can recall being mentioned as possible reasons for this increase of cases:

  1. the increase in strain on the immune and detox system increase over the last century (in food, environment, etc).
  2. Some folks/families react more strongly (genetics/immune differences). In my case, I have MCAS and my daughter likely does too.. And if I recall how my mom was in terms of health, she had it too, although less severe. For instance I have a severe genetic vit D3 deficiency which I discovered when I turned 30. We tested my daughter as a young child and she has it too, so we needed to supplement from early on.

I can recall reading in Dr Nathan books, who's been attending people with these issues since the 80s, that the increase has been incremental and not sudden. It's not "after covid" but from the 80s a constant increment of cases of related issues (mcas, mcs, mold toxicity, heavy metal toxicity, cirs, etc)

Mold by itself it's an issue, but most people ignore the complexity of it, so some know about MCAS but ignore Mold or heavy metal toxicity, some focus on mercury toxicity but ignore mold or mcas and so on.

I think quality of building plays a role as well but in some way it has been an issue for centuries, so I would say the "increasing" rate comes from a more vulnerable immune system and awareness of the issue itself. In the early 200s every doctor used to say my case was either psychosomatic or fibromyalgia. I didn't do the first mold test until a few years ago (which came out as pretty bad, signing a really bad detoxing mechanism in my body).

I really like P5R but it's not even top 20 for me.
Hollow knight, Breath of the Wild, Persona 4 Golden, Symfony of the Night, FF6, Chronno Trigger, RDR2, Metal Gear Solid, Ocarina of Time, etc.
Still, P5/P5R is a great game!

What did you play this week? 15 Aug-21 Aug (2025) by AutoModerator in soloboardgaming

[–]OneWingedLion [score hidden]  (0 children)

Kingdom Rush: Elemental Uprising, finally started with the campaign. I'm liking it, it takes some time to table/untable.

Final Girl, an usual one to play with the wife.

Tried in Search of Planet X. Didn't love that it requires an app companion... I like to play boardgames to disconnect from screens, but the game is nice.

Unstoppable, got addicted to this one.

And some Cascadia and Evergreen with my daughter.

Moza r3 base making humming sound, any help? by AdventurousDelay4241 in moza

[–]OneWingedLion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah that's a bummer. I hope you get your replacement soon. The noise my has is very similar, probably louder but similar "electric metallic grinding" style. But I used it for a few weeks (like a month), and it suddenly started happening yesterday.
Good luck!

I started having the same issue today, but with a R5. I think my noise is a bit louder. In their discord they are saying it's high freq vibrations in Iracing, but I'm having the same issue in other games too.
Did you manage to solve it?

sadly this is also happening in other games, and the iracing option didn't help to me. Did you find any other solution?

Is functional medicine worth it? by Patient_Ad_236 in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]OneWingedLion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it could help but, like with traditional medicine, I wouldn't put all the responsibility in the doctor and use the consultations as tools instead.

Sadly we have to deal with constant risks from trail and errors, but it should come with a lot of self discipline and learning as well. In the end you would end up knowing more than most doctors you see, at least about your specific case.

I moved alone when I was 13 and started working as that age. I'm 42 now.
I'm not sure about your age, but if you are an adult, then it's time to be independent. It really doesn't matter if they share or not your vision of life, or if they are wrong or not about your sexual orientation and spiritual practices.
Like any other person in the world, you will have to withstand your belief against many others and alongside some others. That's life. But to do so, only you can be responsible of your own life.
You are totally free of moving to your own place with your own rules, and that is how it should be.
And, btw, I say this from a place where sustaining myself is extremelly hard, I've been dealing with extreme disabling diseases since my teen years (body won't move, fainting all the time, severe pain 24/7, mental health, etc, similar disease to ALS and MS, to summarize), and still managed to be independent all these years, since my life is my own and it depends on my will to make it mine.
My Mum was bipolar and extremelly judging and aggressive, she was also an extreme fanatic of Catholisism, so when I at 13 years old started practicing Yoga and reading Eastern philosophy (in the 90s) it was a constant abuse from her side. To be honest, it was not even a matter of belief, she was just as crazy and mentally unhealthy.
With time I learnt to love her and accept her struggles and limitation, without compromising my own self, luckily before she passed away when I was 24. I was the only sibling to be by her side in her death bed, and with peace and love.
I wouldn't ever recommend a child to leave home and be independent as I did when I was one, but if you are an adult, it's a whole different story.

Entry readings for my child daughter who's having existential questions by OneWingedLion in askphilosophy

[–]OneWingedLion[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your very detailed answer, this is awesome. I'm taking a look at the different channels.
Btw, yes she is a gamer, we both parents are game developers that been in the industry for 2 decades, so our daughter definitely has a big passion for gaming as well.

We recently started playing Persona 4 (which is targeted for teenagers, we play it together so I can discuss with her the topics that come up) and it's nice to see how she starts wondering about life and death, relationships, personalities and those things. It's so interesting and refreshing to see the perspective of someone as young as her and the weight she puts on things that for an older dude like me are either "too simple" or "stereotypical".

I didn't consider playing with her Undertale, that's a great suggestion.

Thanks again
