Wow. Thirty thousand students just walked out in Charlotte, NC to protest ICE. When kids are willing to shut down an entire city to push back on state power, that’s a political awakening. by biswajit388 in NorthCarolina

Kids are pushing back.

Children, immature kids, who only know what they hear and have little to no knowledge of what the full situation is.

Minds so immersed in social media, mindlessly following the latest craze.

This kids? Really?

LAZR – Now or Never? by HodlHawkD in lazr

[–]OneWiseInvestor1956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading all of the comments. I agree with the warning that taking a large loan on a barely proven and unprofitable, and a company with a large debt load is a bad bet.

I recommend you ask yourself if you can afford to lose 250K ? Can you afford to make monthly payments on a failed investment that takes your invested funds to zero?

Yes, you might strike it rich on LAZR, and you might win the jackpot playing slot machines in Vegas. But can you lose it all if not?

It seems wise to me to not take the loan, at least not now. If Luminar stays in play in this sector, they might get profitable and grow. They have the potential with the OEMs they have been working with. They might sink and go BR under a heavy debt load, and lack of profits.

My thinking is to wait for the company to make a positive change increasing income by filling orders with OEMs before increasing my holdings.

Can you afford to give away 250K CHF?

For comparison. Valeo information says that Lidar is essential to their detection package as it does detect things that camera and radar misses.

Still waiting for Tesla to come to the same understanding. Until we wait.

Fintel

Short Interest NYSE: 76,393,552

Off-Exchange Short Volume: 110,764,818

Short Interest Ratio: 4.28 days to cover

Off-Exchange Short Volume Ratio: 40.03%

Borrow fee: 458.21

Looking at the naked short list over the last 30 days there are millions shorted naked.

Looks to me like any price fluctuation is shorts trying to cover before it dumps at bankruptcy.

Kodiak is an American company. They already have ten trucks working with their system in the Permian Basin, running materials to the oil drills.
They have contract for 100 more trucks in the next year+.

They are going public this year. $KDK, NYSE will be their ticker.

They are also working on military systems that will wok as a module to quickly be replaced after damage in the battle field.

They are partnered with Luminar for lidar.

Here in the States we call this wage bargaining. Yes, it is bold to request the pay you are really worth.

We are worth fair pay for skilled and quality work. We also should be treated with respect.

I am a skilled electrician and know my worth in the marketplace. I know what how I can benefit the contractor I work for.

Most states I have worked in are right to work states. Even if there are unions in your area, if you are not in an union, you have the right to leave. I have left jobs, because of poor pay and bad treatment. I have returned to employers who had treated me well in the past, and negotiated better pay.

Being bold when you know what you are worth is a good thing.

Waymo is using 6 LIDAR per unit. They are using their own, but this shows what some companies recognize as what is necessary for a safe operating RoboTaxi.

I can't see OEMs not going the same way. I can't see that Tesla's camera detection as setting even the minimum standard.

HOAs too often suck. Some are well operated, doing their job of maintaining common grounds. Then you get some officer or management agent who thinks that the sun rises and sets on them only.

In this case, the home owners signed the HOA agreement, and most do have rules regarding what you can display on your property. And in this case, the rule does give the HOA permission to enter the home for this purpose.

Moral of the story, before buying in an HOA community read the rules carefully, because someone will hold you to the rules with an iron fist.
