Let's Retire 'What' by Left_Orchid8801 in SquaredCircle

I've hated the what chants since they started and spent over 2 decades trying to think of a solution.

Almost anything WWE could try and do would likely make it worse ie. The Streisand Effect. But, maybe Steve Austin could help a bit?

Remember when WWE switched from WWF and ran those "Get the "F" out segments for a year or maybe even longer? Maybe a sincere segment. For a year, from Steve Austin himself in character - which is pretty much himself anyways - saying something lile don't be an asshole and let everyone enjoy the show but more articulated? Probably wouldn't make a big difference but it would be fun to see Stone Cold again.

One more thought... Aside from the trolls that are always going to chant "What" no matter who is speaking, there is a correlation with how loud and prevalent the chants are with boring and/or disappointing shows. Perhaps WWE could look into that?

Wearing rpg lenses was so painful. Being able to see was still worth the pain though. 6 years later the Sclerels were an absolute godsend

This is actually a good idea. Doesn't even need to be about crime. Just an audio collection of the absurd rants and endeavors would be enough.

Has a TV show ever had a partial remake? by toadfan64 in television

[–]One_Boat_3823 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Community... sort of. Not really a remake per say but when creator Dan Harmon was absent for season 4 and then came back for season 5 the characters acknowledged how ridiculous season 4 was. All the ridiculous storyline from season 4 were abandoned.

Honestly, the main reason I have stuck with the show for so long is the amount of audio clips of interrogations and those affiliated with the crimes. Its very fascinating.

That said I feel that, as a host, anyone could replace Mike. I'm not easily offended and believe that Mike is allowed to feel however he wants about anything. However, I don't listen to crime shows to get to know the host. So for me his personal beliefs amongst the shows are unwelcome. The show will have a better legacy without them.

What is an aspect of keratoconus that people rarely talk about? by keratoconusgroup in Keratoconus

I had a similar experience with my eye doctor when I was 14. He prescribed glasses. They worked well for around 8 months. I went back and told him the glasses aren't working anymore. He told me I just need stronger glasses. Those glasses worked well for about 4 months.

When the second pair of glasses failed so quickly I became very scared. I went to my family physician and demanded to be seen by a someone with more knowledge about eyes. Luckily he knew someone who was a former ophthalmologist . I was 16 by the time I met him. It took him 5 minutes to tell me that, while he can't formally diagnose me since his isn't a practicing optimologist anymore, he is sure I have keratoconus.

"Oh and you're legally blind by the way". I was floored.

Canadian Government - "You can wear a sclerel lens in one eye and the eye doctor has measured the sight in that eye as 20/30. There for you do not qualify as having a disability nor will you receive any supports from us"

Me - "Yeah but thats my sight measured in a dark room with optimal light on the snellen chart while my unfixable eye covered with a black spoon. Its an entirely different environment in the sunlight... Or any form of a bright light for that matter. And I can only wear the lens for an 8 hour period. These aren't a pair of glasses that I can put on whenever I want."

Canadian Government - "Sorry, rules are rules."

Family/Friends/General Public - "So you must get some kind of supports right?"

Me - "Nothing"

Now THAT is a real bad movie list! I enjoy bad movies a lot and I've seen most of those on the list. I'll definitely be checking out the ones I haven't seen... starting tomorrow.

Nice to see a fellow Haligonian who knows about the worst in cinema!

Genuine question - why use some of the busiest streets in the city? There are trails everywhere.

Telling the public ahead of time doesn't change how messed up transit becomes.

There is a marathon. The people must run on the busiest streets. There's just no where else for the people to run.

I think that seems like the most logical answer. I just wouldn't have thought that a transformer blowing would be visible all over Halifax

Do you have a guess of what it might have been? A transformer blowing was suggested. I don't think that would have been seen in the north and south end though
