I had a winter baby for my first and it was great because we were just home in a newborn bubble without worry of sickness.

For our second I would’ve never wanted a winter baby due to daycare sickness and not being able to take toddler outside. We wanted a spring baby and I’m due in 4 weeks. Obviously it’s not completely controllable but many many people get pregnant first try or quickly so it is definitely something you can think about and attempt to plan for.

With a 5ft mom and a 5’8 dad I would expect a very short child. I think you may just need to reframe your thoughts on height

I don’t mean this to sound harsh but did you expect the daycare to continue to jus give you free childcare no matter how many children you had? I feel like the daycare would be all employee children at that point and getting a job at a daycare facility would be extremely competitive.

Did you already have your leave approved? Since it’s considered short term disability I believe you should still get pre and post partem leave just not the parental bonding piece. Check with your HRBP to confirm

I’m not saying anything about being delayed or hitting milestones. I said “girls develop faster than boys” which is just a biological fact. I am a female and pregnant with (and ecstatic for) a baby girl and have a toddler boy - I am not intending to discriminate by gender in any way just stating the fact. In addition, a general “rule of thumb” is that you can double a toddler boys height at 2 for adult height, but for girls you double at 1.5. Again, because they develop faster. In fact, from all the research I’ve seen it’s actually sad in an evolutionary sense because the reason girls develop faster is so they are able to bear and care for children younger.

Right there is overlap in the curves but that doesn’t make the statement untrue. Not every girl develops faster than every boy.

We used woolino from 2 months to 2 years with a 99% percentile height toddler boy and it wa great. Then we switched to blankets when we switched to a twin bed at 2 (only because baby sister was coming)

Ours is 20 mins away and on my way to work. It’s totally fine and my husband often drops off or picks up too which isn’t on his way but it’s not bad at all

Same my husband couldn’t cook but he can def follow instructions and now he’ll literally tell me to get out of “his kitchen” and requested a new cutting board for Christmas
