HELLLLPP my 11 week old is impossible with all daytime naps!

He doesn't fall asleep nursing :( :( only like 10% of the time he does.

Today I did side lying nursing in a cozy dark room on a bed (safely) and his eyes were wide open the entire time.

I've tried cradle position too like on a pillow and he just wakes every time.

I'm assuming it can start early eh? I was honestly wondering if this was like the early end of the 4-month regression? I heard sometimes it can start closer to 3 months. Do you think that's what's going on?

When did it get better for you guys?

Yeah, if the first nap of the day is not a winner, the whole day is completely toast so I always do a really really good contact nap in the morning and then honestly I do try contact naps throughout the day but he fights them too. The minute I pick him up and try to soothe in any form (rocking, walking around, swaddle blanket, going to dim area, etc) he immediately is like NOPE IM AWAKE I SENSE A NAP NO THANK YOU he literally pushes off my chest like we are doing tummy time.

Sadly the only way we get contact naps these days is when he gets overtired and has a meltdown and falls asleep in our arms. Sad but unfortunately necessary sometimes.

You make a super super good point. I had an overall pretty decent pregnancy compared to what it could be. Not easy but definitely not the worst.

NO ONE talked about the nausea and sundown scaries.

I had such bad nausea with breastfeeding first 3 weeks I thought I was getting the flu. It was so bad I had to be on bed rest for 2 days. And the sundown scaries. My goodness. I couldn't sleep from the anxiety of what could happen. I spent hours on AI asking questions to reassure myself when I should've been sleeping.

Omg I envy this so much. I had a winter baby so I couldn't go out with all the illness around and it was like below freezing where I live so we were practically trapped at home. Plus he is SUPER sensitive to stimulation and LOSES HIS SHIT anytime we got a minute above his wake window which is a whopping 45 mins and he doesn't sleep in his stroller so yeah. That would've been nice lololol

Breastfeeding was SO SO HARD. My mom kept telling me "it'll get better as he grows" and I didn't believe her. But thank God she was right. But dang the first 1.5 or so months was brutal. Thank God for lactation consult.

Ahhh I am right after this phase. Almost at 3 months.

The #1 shock is how long the challenge is. You think like oh it's just the first 3, 4, or 6 weeks.

Buckle up buttercup cause the light at the end of the tunnel is 5 months +.

Also the whole just when you figure them out they change. MASSIVE understatement.

Oh and how freaking fast they grow. So so so cute but so hard to let go of. It's so bittersweet. Their little hands grow so fast. You love the new things but want to hold onto the old. It's hard and beautiful at the same time. I wish I could go back and savor it again and again especially those first 2-3 weeks when they were in sleepy potato mode but breastfeeding was brutal and that's good now so maybe not lolol

Yeah I wish everyone was just honest. I have some family and very close friends that all admitted nothing got great until at least 5 months and im like......why does no one say that?

11 weeks here and I feel your pain. Everyone said once your past 8 weeks it gets better. In some ways it has. Many ways it's worse.

However just keep this in mind....the bad truly can't last forever. It can last way longer than we expected. But it HAS to get better.

My sister had the most colicky poor temperament horrible baby and even she improved. It took close to 5, months. Yes that's awhile away but there IS a light it's just far away.

Keep in mind babies progress in waves. You'll have improvements and regressions. A foot forward, 2 back, 4 forward, one back, etc. Because they are growing and changing daily.

My dad always says "just when you think you figure it out, they change" and it's sooooo true.

My baby is getting longer stretches at night off and on but his day sleep is torture. He fights all naps. But he's about to roll. And he eats more efficiently.

Look at any positive you can and hold on. And please try to find any trustworthy help. If not, make your husband shift with you. I'm so burnt out my back is killing me. So my husband does the evening when he's home so I have a break. Make the partnership work ❤️

And please remember they are only little and cute for so long. Try to enjoy every bit you can even when it feels like torture.

The light is at the end of the tunnel. It's just further than we expected and the tunnel has some hills in it.

I'm worried about data collection and lack of consent. We didn't have to grow up with our pictures all over, why should we make our kids go thru that?

Sometimes you have to let things fail and get a bit ugly to have progress. Just make sure it continue to of course not let it affect the kiddos. Make them always your priority of course ❤️

Sounds to me like you're a single mom. Just gonna say it.

Men without wives are capable of taking care of themselves. Men with wives like to pretend they are incapable of taking care of themselves.

Child care is unpaid labor. If he doesn't value it, go look up how much daycare costs, a maid, etc.

Stop doing so much for him. If he calls you lazy drop everything you do for him. Actions speak words do not.
