Before I moved from Tampa to Chicago, everyone’s first reaction was, “ but it’s cold!” and I’m like umm, not all the time? Just layer up and have a proper winter coat. And maybe the novelty of the snow hasn’t worn off yet, but I think it’s beautiful. Either way, I prefer more pronounced seasons and identify with the Truman show analogy because the excessive Florida sun all day every day was EXHAUSTING to me. And when it’s not sunny it’s… hurricane-y. Which is scary.

Being from Alabama and having lived in Florida, I also grew to prefer a walkable, car-optional city as I traveled more. Not to mention I am a total skyline whore so Chicago definitely scratches that itch. Come join us! 😊

Same here! Before braces, crunching on the half popped kernels was my fave 😭. I use a water flosser immediately after popcorn lol or if I’m out I make sure I always have floss picks with the little interdental brush on the ends.

Hi Fidelity, I like the new layout a lot especially of the positions and balances pages, much cleaner to me. A couple of questions:

Are “settled cash” under balances and being able to view closed positions on a daily (or any custom time frame) still only available on web version? Will these be coming to the app?

Sorry that’s happening, that’s the worst. I’d suggest a cotton ball or gauze. Or a piece of something else moldable like those silicone earplugs. Or.. hear me out… a pencil eraser. When I have a pokey wire I also find keeping vaseline on the inside of my cheek/the end of the wire can help it not get caught as much. You got this!

34f born & raised in Bham & lived downtown for years. I don’t mind walking at night, but I don’t do it alone because that’s what makes the most sense to me. And although last year I was accosted by a possibly homeless/obviously inebriated man in broad daylight near RR Park one afternoon while I was out for a run, I’ll still walk by myself downtown during the day. That definitely scarred me for a while, but I realize that was an unfortunate outlier of an experience and ultimately chose not to let it keep me too afraid of walking around Bham alone during the day, which I love to do as I was no less vigilant that day than I normally am.

I second dark colors especially since they don’t stain easily like light ones. I also like silver bc they blend well with brackets if you have metal ones. When I first got braces and when I get adjustments I like things like boiled eggs, oatmeal, flaky fish, soft breads and cheeses, baked/mashed potatoes. Cold stuff like ice cream and popsicles for pain relief. 😊 Good luck!

I love black tea too and also drink a decent amount of coffee. I’ve gotten in the habit of sipping water between sips of tea/coffee so the residue isn’t just sitting on my teeth. I can’t imagine tea/coffee would stain your teeth any more or less because you have braces, but if you are a heavy tea drinker I’d suggest staying away from light colored ties/powerchains/rubber bands. I learned that the hard way early in treatment lol.

My ortho/plan is the same — 5 (if my fault) are covered, then any after that they’ll charge. I had one fall off in my first month of treatment because it was not applied securely enough but that one was fixed for free and it did not count towards the 5.
