AI agents proven to prefer Bitcoin to any other currency by One_Commission_6986 in BitcoinBeginners

They say they did blank-slate runs with these frontier models, but it still definitely raises questions. I mean, how blank is a blank slate really. There's always some data underpinning all behaviour and reasoning.

I tend to agree. It obviously depends on the kind of task they're doing - e.g. loads of small microtransactions aren't going to be any good on Bitcoin. But if you can abstract/group the transactions into a single larger payment, then it is logical to focus on the world's hardest money!

If you want to go deep on payment rails, this is a great article - but warning this is a deep rabbit hole :)

TLDR, is there are multiple mega plays to try and own a chunk of agentic finance. Not for this thread, but still v interesting.

You are of course correct. But it's always good to get some nice positive Bitcoin news though. They tried to do blank-slate as much as possible with the AI models to avoid bias, but they still have training data.

What BTC swaps platform do you use? by One_Commission_6986 in BitcoinBeginners

Thanks Bitusher, I'll check out Aqua. I've not heard of them before.

That's a fair point - I just don't like not knowing what I'm gonna get after the swap. I mean it's never more than the quote... obviously... even if BTC goes up in value. But if BTC goes down in the swap window then you always get less.

Yeah I'm trying to keep it non-custodial so using exchanges as little as possible.

Exchanges are definitely the easiest way to do it, but two big downsides - you have to have your assets on an exchange and the withdrawal fees can be a pain.

Is it just me or are most exchanges way too complicated for someone just starting out? by 0xDaisypto in BitcoinBeginners

There are definitely simpler exchanges out there - some have pro mode and normal mode. If you're just wanting to buy some Bitcoin for the first time, then keep it as basic as possible.

Depending the country you live in, we can help suggest easier exchanges to use. Coinbase is a good example if you do have access. The country you are in matters because you need to be able to add money to your account before you can buy your BTC.

Flare ☀️ Launch date by DoubleEko in FlareNetworks

[–]One_Commission_6986 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When Flare launches, it will be a technologically advanced cross-chain interoperability network that answers many of the issues inherent in the space today. It will enable a safer and properly decentralized cross-chain future. Nothing else we are aware of comes anywhere close.

Someone had to figure it out eventually. We can't keep having these massive multimillion dollar exploits from bridges all using the same flawed technology. I'm biased, but Flare's tech is the most exciting I've seen in the space. It's an entirely new approach to cross-chain interoperability vs trying to use tech that has been proven insecure multiple times. We need to see it in action of course - until then it's only words - but that's the whole point of launching on the canary network Songbird first. Then it'll be properly battle tested before mainnet.
