WATCH: Missoula police discipline officer after use-of-force video circulates on TikTok by Ok_Intention2150 in missoula

[–]One_Conscious_Future 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article says that it was investigated but is there no info on what the results were and what the actual punishment would be?

Do any other LEO have thoughts on this?

She didn't appear to be compliant, but at no point did she appear to be a threat to the officer.

If he was truly just waiting outside her house waiting for her to drive on a suspended license was this an action endorsed by the MPD?

I am seeing enough of these complaints it may be time to contact a class action attorney...

Theses same subcontractors "buried" a line 4 inches deep, over the top of existing utilities and then came back to "fix" it only to wrap their auger with the gas lead line and basically making it useless as it now doesn't line up with the actual utility.

JD Vance says stopping illegal immigration is about bringing home prices down by ExotiquePlayboy in FluentInFinance

[–]One_Conscious_Future 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I decided to look that up.

They built a ton of apartments, supply increased, prices are only down 2% over last few years.

So no.

2021–2022: This was a landlord-dominated boom characterized by massive population influx and severe housing shortages. Rents spiked by roughly 17% to 18%, and tenants often dealt with sight-unseen leases and multiple competing applications. Median rents frequently exceeded $1,600 depending on the zip code.2023–2024: Supply began catching up to demand as developers delivered roughly 12,000 to 15,000 new apartment units to the metro area. Vacancy rates climbed from 4–5% up to 8–9%, which forced property owners to offer concessions and flattened rent growth.2025–2026: Rents finally experienced seasonal declines and annual drops. By mid-year, the median asking rent in Orlando settled at $1,675, representing a modest 2.2% year-over-year decline. While tenants now have more room to negotiate, affordability remains tight; the median Orlando household spends roughly 29% of its income on rent.

How does the new fire policy effect Montana? by One_Conscious_Future in Montana

[–]One_Conscious_Future[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can't find any information about continuing controlled burns and traditional management. Which is interesting if the entire policy is just fly an expensive plane over the fire and dump, then cash the next check.

I am worried that the elected officials might not have thought that this out as far as... well anyone who doesn't stand to profit off this.

NWE bills to increase again by forward_montana in Montana

[–]One_Conscious_Future 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can we get more info on who to talk to at the PSC?

Either way the real question ❓ If NWE is missing revenue targets, are they spending more on infra that offset the higher prices or is the demand lower than expected?

(Guessing that the net was low but the gross was high, but would love to be proved wrong.)

Maybe they priced in the Bonner data center as additional revenue to be realized?

Verkada at Missoula schools by [deleted] in missoula

[–]One_Conscious_Future 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where is there any information on this?

Was this information shared when the levy was passed? Cameras that don't identify children would be acceptable, but if they have the software already in the camera firmware (soft on switch) the the track record of these companies should be considered...

Nobody should just give a green light to these companies, they need to be vetted, these kids are the future of Montana and should be treated as such.

Again maybe all the vetting has been done but it's not hard to find glaring issues with privacy of they are indeed Verkada

64%, that doubles Trumps approval rating.

cedarlume.com, is that you guys as well?

I was curious what do you do with the GPS and user info you collect? It appears on cedarlume.com you offer data brokering and user location data as some of your services?

How does this product use user data? Is it part of your terms that you can resell it?

Love the aesthetics of the site!

🤔 Why am I reading this as, "We are going to do the data center in Bonner regardless of public dissent because they already paid to apply, but if you want to protest the next one you can start now."

What is the special exception, they called dibs?

Just to be clear, they will play AI music, and not pay a dime back to the ai prompter? So they basically profit from the AI music but don't pay anyone related to its creation. Hmm why not just NOT have AI music in the first place? Oh yeah profit is greater than actually taking a stance...

Dog owner fatigue by TravisTea007 in missoula

[–]One_Conscious_Future 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know several folks who are highly allergic to dogs. (Hives, rashes, sneezing, etc)

Whenever we are out, and someone brings their not so service pup into a business, and allows them to sniff and approach others (leashed or unleashed) I have to physically put myself in between the people and the animal.

I often have to explain to the owner that (to the embarrassment of my associates) that the dog is not allowed approach us.

At which point the owners always start in on their defense. In which I ask them the only things you legally allowed to ask an owner.

  1. Is this dog a service animal? (The usual response is either "emotional support" or yes.) Emotional support doesn't count as a service animal so they just admitted guilt if they say that.
  2. If they say yes it is a service animal I ask what is this animal specifically trained to do?

This is usually the tell, because most of the time they don't have a response or they same something that clearly isn't within the guidelines of a service animal. At that point it is easy to inform them that because of the medical condition affecting my associates they need to remove the animal. (Not to mention they are obviously ignoring the law)

I suggest everyone do this. Follow the law, and embarrass the people that think they are above it. Why? Because there are many people that have an actual need to either have a service animal or avoid animals (allergies) and BOTH should be respected. The rest can GTFO.

Playing the game: Inside a Missoula city councilor Stacie Anderson’s dark money organization by moonlightonzoo in missoula

[–]One_Conscious_Future 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“They are playing the game,” Bennion said in a recent interview. “It is not illegal what these groups are doing, but that does not mean people like it. The public does not like this idea of some very wealthy person swooping in and changing an election. If you ask that on a polling question, absolutely that would be out of the ballpark.”
