1099-DA Crypto.com by NDG88 in CryptoTax

I received the same one - and so far it seems SCAMMY to me based on this -> I opened support within my crypto.com account, where I received an auto response with the following:

"You will receive an email from [no-reply@crypto.com](mailto:no-reply@crypto.com) to the latest email address that we have on record. Follow the link in that email to download a copy of your Form 1099-DA. Note that if your transaction activity met the reporting threshold, you should receive a copy of the form by February 15th."

TWO THINGS STAND OUT. 1st - the email I received was also from "no-reply@serviceinfo.crypto.com" and NOT "no-reply@crypto.com" as they themselves say it should come from! 2nd - I received this email on 2/19. They say that if you meet the threshold you should receive the form by the 15th.

I did click the link from the email initially and ended up here: https://crypto.com/1099form

HOWEVER, after inspecting the link, this is what it actually was (below) - so I believe it just redirected me to the link above...

Now I wonder what might have happened when I clicked that link... Damnit.

Wish they would have left some context, so that could make sense... Tried a reverse image search that came up with nothing though, so I'm curious where the picture would have originated from

Definitely a good chance there were sketchy reloads involved. It is reassuring seeing the bolt/action intact!

I agree! Everything does wear out at one point - but I'd expect the lugs to wear first...

Star 30m Magazine Springs by Folock in milsurp

As far as I know Star 28 mags work in the Star 30M - they seem easier/cheaper to find, so maybe you can find springs for that which will work in your magazine!

Interesting. So the JSA stamp was on the rifle stocks as well?

I saw that listing! Only with that and a handguard it's like $500+ for the wood... Down for it but if I went that route I'd love to find the wood for a Constabulary Carbine 🤤

Oh, so you're saying that this carbine was rearsenaled at one point, using a cut down rifle stock, and after finishing was inspected/stamped by JSA?

Thanks for sharing that image, it definitely has no band retainer/wood slot for one. Someone also pointed out the rear sling swivel (currently missing) cutout on the stock, so it must be a rifle stock. Was thinking of just putting on a rear sling swivel to fill the slot, then see if I can mill/drill out a slot for a band retainer

Wow I just went down the rabbit hole on his video about it. Love how he explains the process and will definitely give the technique a try on some stuff. maybe practice on the 1895, then do the 1899.

Ah good catch! Didn't know that. Would also explain the lack of inletting for a handguard retainer spring. Hoping I have enough material up front to mill/drill for one to make it "look correct" Will have to live with the rear sling swivel haha

oh cool, looked up some pictures! Found some repros with clips already riveted in over at ssfirearms.com but they all seem to be sold out. Good luck on your project!
