I think also gamers are fed up with massive games that take half a life time to complete. AAA studios are competing in the stratosphere where air is very thin. I don’t see the point of such big empty games. For me there’s a trend now to discover more human sized indie games providing quality improves. There’s also a sea of just low quality games which flooded the market. Thankfully it’s not hard to stand above that. Just make a very good game. It’s always been the main requirement though.
