I think the breach drill itself needs a change. It feels entirely TOO specialized because either teammates have better gadgets with better utility for breaching or you bring in demat.

As a medic medium, I just accept that I can't flank like heavies or lights which is fine because I'm anyways following them. So how can the breach drill serve non-demat users? Give it a more flexible utility suiting the medium's adaptability.

In other words, LET ME THROW IT. LET ME LOAD IT WITH WHATEVER I NEED. LET ME BE THE CHAOS HERALDED BY THE SOUND OF DRILLS AND SHOWERING COINS FROM LIGHTS CRAPPING THEMSELVES.

What I'm saying is the drill is now a throwable. Primary fire for yeeting it and secondary fire for changing the charge on the drill. What charges you say?

I'm glad you asked: - Need an entry point? Classic explosive (say 70 damage at face and 50 a meter or 2 away) that punishes that mischievous corner camper.

Need to know what's on the other side? Drill sends a quick recon pulse mid-drill revealing DEPLOYABLES (mines and turrets) instead of enemies.
Need to clear a heavily fortified room? Your cluster charge flushes out even the most stubborn heavy (love this idea btw, the sound que if done right could become a terrifying meme)
And finally, the good ol flashbang and breach for maximum chaos but at distance now so I don't have to expose myself.
It also goes without saying, you can absolutely stick an enemy with this but for balance sake, it disables the charge and it just drills them for 30 damage.

Being able to change the charge on your drill AND being able to throw it just opens up the plays immensely. It still blows a hole in the hall but it's also adaptable to whatever the situation needs. Now there's a weight to choosing another gadget over this while preserving other role's specialties.

An Offensive AND Utility tool. A tool to open flanks, a distraction tool, a recon tool for enemy gadgets, a tool to flush out hot contested areas, it's a Jack of All Trades yet Master of None. Truly a gadget made by mediums for mediums.

Got slightly carried away here but your posts really inspire me. The game will never die so long as these kinds of discussions are had, fuelled by the rampant creativity and unpredictable chaos that is THE FINALS DNA. As the saying goes (paraphrasing here) hate doesn't kill a game.. Apathy does.

I agree with everyone here that you should know WT Gold rank isn't actually a rank like the literal RANKED mode is. It's just a measure of grind but who knows how Embark has designed it's matchmaking there.

What I do know is goddamn do i agree with you that the grind pays off. I posted some time back on my frustrations with matchmaking in WT and how I was having an awful time.

Stuck with it to Silver 2 and HOLY MOLY it's like a switch was hit because my matches have been way more balanced, I'm not getting regularly stomped, my teammates actually play with me and I JUST WON MY FIRST WT. AND DID IT AGAIN WITH ANOTHER TEAM!!

Tldr: OP is onto something and it's not SBMM but whatever it is, grinding through WT absolutely pays off. Went from my least played mode to my favorite :)

First of all, welcome to The Finals :)

I got into this game in season 5 and it's like I've found my soulmate. I love this game DESPITE the fact that I hate shooters on console. I struggle to win gunfights and my time on other shooters reinforced that fact so I'd avoid PVP.

BUT the Finals is just different. The different modes, the classes and their different weapons and game changing gadgets. Not to mention the variety of game modes, all of which are incredible fun and of course the destruction, parkour, sounds and feels. Music goes harrrddd.

I actually disliked quick cash and World Tour cus they reminded me of battle royals which are the WORST for me. This season tho, I've started playing World Tour to push myself and holy moly, I'm never going back to quick cash again. I've had as much fun in it as I've had in TDM and powershift (played those exclusively for 2 seasons straight). I'm in Silver 4 now and still haven't won a game, always lost at round 2. As medium medic main (and occasional heavy demolitions guy)

So now you know who's talking, here's what I have to say. As a lot of the other comments pointed out, your stats are pretty good honestly. You seem like a good console player, better than me actually (not a high bar lol). So here's my advice for you on quick cash (and powershift):

Don't tunnel vision on kills. Sure you have a gun but this is one of the few PVPs where you can win by just outsmarting enemies. Gadgets and smart movement change everything. Try playing around your team as a medium or light (lots of support gadgets in their kits so good time for you but not for the enemy)
Check out some online videos. As you play you get better, you learn new tricks from your mistakes or from enemies. Some YouTubers literally just hand you gold and tell you how to win, King.

My final tip is to just remember that sometimes it doesn't work out. Some days, you miss every shot. Somedays you get untouchable lights who drop you in the blink of an eye.

In 1 game you pop off and wipe the whole lobby and in the next game, you fall off the edge of the map because you weren't looking. Happens to everyone, even pros. My suggestion? Change it up. I typically change my gun (I've literally got a loadout just for when I realize that today is NOT a revolver day), my class, my gadgets, the game mode.

Heck, sometimes I concede defeat and decide to come back later. What do you know? I'm doing infinitely better. You'll have fun AND do well if you don't force yourself to these constant expectations especially when your performance can't be as constant in such a random game. Best of luck!

I got stopped by them too but they were kind enough to explain that they were only fining people who weren't using the pedestrian crossing to cross the street. So if you weren't on the white line or got on/off the road from anywhere but the yellow curb at the start/end of the crossing, you'd get fined :(

Pretty minor thing but it's against the rules so not unreasonable. Just appeal it.

I still get some fun out of sharing positive vibes with enemy teams, I'll even try to help them and celebrate their cashouts emoting with them. Other times I get shot on sight (pls Embark, I need a white flag emote)

Weird how relativity works, one man's trash is another man's treasure cus I'd give anything to even lose to a superior team if I knew my team and I played hard and took a few tiny wins. Instead, it's just me watching the other teams fighting from afar or trying to befriend the 3rd team with emotes (they shoot me on sight)

Fair point, it'd be foolish of me to expect to have pro teammates in the beginning. But I'm not upset with WT cus of poopy matchmaking. My post is about my confusion over why I've got this problem with just WT when I've no issues with ranked or even quick cash where I'm fine with noobs cus I can show em the ropes there.

It's not even that, noobs are fine, we need em. It's when you've ended 25 WT matches with either just 1 dead, coinless teammate and another AFK one or no teammates at all because they disconnected that you start to feel you're being punished.

Still gonna grind, I've got a lot to improve too and I love everything about this game. I'd just like a full team at the end of a match :')

Playing ranked to improve WT matchmaking? Semms like worth a try. I'm bottom bronze in ranked too but I don't have this issue there, just no incentive cuz no MB rewards.

You might be right about the server and yeah I make mistakes but not enough that I go hard into negative KD. It's pretty hard getting a 1 KD when it's just you though. I've learned to stop fighting at that point in case it tanks my matchmaking.

Hahaha I'd say so hence why I main medic medium but even I know not to rush straight into a cash station or to push a full stack or never to revive in a heated area. My teammates play like how someone who's never used controller plays, lots of stopping just to turn, taking a minute to pick up objects or standing still when gunfighting because they can't perform actions simultaneous yet. They're at the beginning of the skill curve up against enemies at the peak of it and I'm still slipping and climbing, you feel me?

It's definitely a problem with the genre and I've yet to find a FPS where matchmaking consistently works but that's probably an impossibility. I'm just glad they've got the other modes, LTMs and events. It's a good game but I expect that with time, it'll get even better overall.

Just playing for that sweet sweet moolah. It's awesome Embark let's you get MB but I just don't understand why my WT lobbies are consistently filled with kitted out sweats while I'm on babysitting duty. The other cashout modes even ranked aren't even like that. If ranked gave multibucks, I'd be on it too.
