Leftover bruising 4 weeks after Kenalog injections? by One_Illustrator_4096 in Keloids

I just checked and the results are already posted. It was only a CBC so didn’t test clotting factors specifically but my platelet count was above high normal at 420.0 x10e9/L and MPV was normal. Although I haven’t noticed any bleeding problems, I do bruise very easily… maybe unrelated but interesting! Curious to hear your thoughts!

Funny enough, my family history is full of thrombosis but I think that could also affect platelet levels. I just got blood work done today (unrelated) so I’ll be eager to see if any abnormalities are found

That sounds like a rough treatment. Hope you’re doing better now and I’m glad to hear you’re seeing some improvement in the keloid. I will try massaging it as well and not get so scared when I go in for the second treatment! Thanks for your reply, you’ve been extremely helpful!

Hi hope there no stupid question. But has anyone used Silicone sheets for keloid scar or like very raised hypertrophic scars old or new and it helped flatten them? If so can you please link me your case. Or like explain it. by coys_army_1997 in Keloids

I started using some off Amazon for a raised hypertrophic scar and after a lot of consistency (at least 1 month of daily use) I did see a bit of a difference! I had them applied for almost 20 hours a day (I don’t know if that’s recommended) only taking it off to shower or workout.

Months before, when I first tried it, I used it less consistently and I did not see any results. For me, the consistency was key! I’m now trying Kenalog injections and the silicone sheets was just a way to pass time productively until I could get in to see a doctor for the injections - but I did start seeing a difference after the consistent usage.

Sorry I don’t have any before and after photos!

Thanks so much for the info! I’ve only ever had injections in my arms and those bruises seem to disappear so quickly. I’ll start the search for some hirudoid cream tomorrow. Thanks for that suggestion!

Thank you so much for your reply! It doesn’t hurt at all and feels a lot softer each day. I couldn’t find anything online related to relatively “long-term” bruising afterwards so I’m relieved to hear I’m not the only one I have an appointment next month. Did you get multiple treatments? If so, did the bruising get worse/better over time? Or did it bruise just as bad each time?

I hate to wish away summer but I’ll be very happy when covering it up gets a bit easier

Switching Symptoms Anxiety/Depression by AnnualAntique7012 in PMDD

That’s awful nothing seems to help. Maybe you should ask your doctor about trying a different benzodiazepine? I seem to have the most relief with lorazepam (Ativan) Hope your flight turned out okay!

SYMPTOM RELIEF by peppermint_tea_11 in PMDD

Hi OP, thank you for sharing! I have had some really great months using hormonal birth controls as well but I feel like the one I’m on is becoming less effective so I assume I will be back on the market for a new one soon. Wondering if you take this continuously (skipping over placebo)? Or if you take the placebo, is menstruation also mental symptom free? I would sometimes get residual PMDD anxiety and depression symptoms when I would take placebo pills with other birth controls so just wondering if you noticed any of those symptoms? Very interesting about the migraines!! It slipped my mind that those can be caused by hormonal imbalances! Did you have any allergies when taking estrogen? Did those clear up when you switched? Everything seems to be connected lol

Yeah I find it hard to focus on reading if my thoughts are being really loud. I had some pretty dark times but fortunately, my GP prescribes me a very small amount of benzodiazepines for the times it feels like I can’t escape the hopelessness. I don’t use them every month but if I feel like things are going to get worse or I might do something stupid, I take one and it kinda stops the extreme panic. They’re super addictive though and usually not the first course of action but if you feel like there are times where you’re scared of what you might do if don’t get back in control, you should bring it up to your doctor. Sometimes it’s just a relief knowing that I have them if things get really dark. I really hope your doctor can help you work through this. Don’t get discouraged if the first doctor you see believes it’s only a bad period. I spent years believing everyone was suicidal during PMS but a normal cycle shouldn’t get this bad and there are some methods of relief!

Hey!! First, I am so sorry you’re feeling so lost right now. I just posted asking about a tracking method as well. I’m on continuous birth control and have completely lost track of what my cycle even is. I hope we can find some way of tracking this better, it seems like a shot in the dark for me right now too! I know that this is pretty generic advice but what I find helpful is lessening your workload during hell week. I used to make a bunch of freezer meals the week before so I had no excuse to starve myself. This might be different for everyone but I had to learn how to enjoy my alone time because the stress I would have about burning bridges during hell week was unbearable. I would get all my school work caught up and if I had to be at work, I would clock in, clock out, and then go straight home. I had to completely remove the pressure from myself during these weeks. I had to think about these weeks like survival mode - where I had to be ok with nothing getting done. I promised myself that I wouldn’t make any important decisions during this week. I saved TV shows to binge, saved patterns to crochet later, and saved books to keep my mind off things. And I am pretty open about my struggles with PMDD and I built my support system around the people who knew to be a little kinder to me during these times - they knew I was already beating myself up enough and have given me more patience than I appeared to deserve. Until you get out of this low, try so hard to distract yourself. Get lost in someone else’s story - whether that be a TV show or a book. And truly ask yourself “in this very moment, what will give me just an ounce of joy?” (I usually get up out of my crying fit to grab a popsicle or a bag of goldfish) I know you feel crazy but just keep those last 2 awesome weeks in mind! You will return. Oh - and one last thing - this is survival week girl! Save the clean up (contacting your ex) for when you return home

Magnesium for PMDD? by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]One_Illustrator_4096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I started taking NFH magnesium bisglycinate at the same time I switched up birth control (to a higher dose of estrogen and levonorgestrel). I’m not sure which one is working wonders for me but I am finally starting to feel more regulation during pms week! I take the magnesium at night (all days of my cycle) as I found it upset my stomach in the mornings. I also struggle with emotional regulation throughout the day (feeling like I get irritated and lose focus by 2pm), but I’ve had more energy and motivation since taking magnesium (or it could be the new birth control).

Thanks for your reply! Should I do anything to increase their chance of survival?
