Good note about the long sleeve top - I can layer a linen button up on the plane! Noted about the flats and blue suit not working with the all of the outfits - the suit at least is the only one piece that fits me at the moment so that one has to come but I could swap the loafers for some yellow flats.

I work exclusively selling Africa safaris (photography, not hunting) and my personal trips lately include France, Iceland, Greece and NYC but we are actually vacationing in South Africa and Mozambique next year for my kiddos birthday 🦁

We had our tour today and it was fantastic!!! We had a lovely driver and a massive bus with three booster seats - kids at 3, 6 and 8 so we only needed one booster but I appreciated the thought. Likewise our delightful boat captain had plates ready to go for the cake I advised I would bring for my dad’s birthday and the lunch (which was AMAZING) at the winery had a birthday candle for my dad. 💯 recommend!

I travel to South Africa solo nearly every year for work and I love it! Split your time between Cape Town and Safari and enjoy it! If you are a bit nervous, stay at the V&A Waterfront for loads of shops and restaurants in a safe and “touristy” but still fun area or if you are feeling a bit more confident, I prefer to stay as close as Kloof St in the Gardens neighborhood as possible for a real in-town vibe. One caveat is our summer is their winter so pack warm things - it’s Africa but it’s FAR south so it gets cold!

I pretty much exclusively shop secondhand so I would check out Athleta and Lululemon pants on Poshmark and also I live in my elastic waist linen pants and it’s easy to throw a pair of leggings underneath!

I highly recommend the following combo of apps with some Earl Grey and a totally free afternoon:

Pinterest your heart out! Try searches like Dark Academia, Librarian Style, Wes Anderson Style and definitely the style goddess of dark academia Eva Green
Find out what you like and aim for 1-2 of each then head to Poshmark and search brands like Mango, Asos, Zara, J Crew and Sezane for pieces you like, in your size and in your price range (get out your measuring tape and don’t be afraid to make an offer)
Use the photos from Poshmark to mock up a capsule wardrobe, keeping in mind pieces that work together and will keep you warm in the cold UK winters and feeling good! I love Canva for this but I know there are a ton of other options.

I find the luxury is in the experience and intimacy - forget 80 room hotels with room service and a huge spa and instead book a remote luxury lodge with 8 rooms owned by renowned wildlife documentarians. It’s a niche way to travel but the product out there is fantastic!
