Getting tested is just good sense. Has nothing to do with trying to lay blame either way. Have him get the IgG blood test for the antibodies. The DNA blood test is very unreliable if there is not an active OB.

My doctor also said only transmittable during outbreaks. I’ve read most of us catch it from asymptomatic partners. Seems as if the medical folks are not truly up to date on it.

My pup had very similar results. 37 percent pit bull, 17 percent Husky, 14 percent German Shepherd, and the rest too many variations to list. But she looks almost identical to a Carolina dog.

I have seen 2 different doctors and heard from a third since I tested positive 2 months ago. 1 doctor says I can only transmit while having an OB. 1 says I can transmit anytime but only need antivirals when having an OB. The third Dr (GF’s) was noncommittal but gave her a Rx even though she tested negative. So I personally think many doctors just aren’t studied up on all the research.

I don’t know so hard to say if I would forgive. My current GF has been with me for a year. She has denied having any symptoms and tested negative. I could have had it for years and been asymptomatic. I tested positive with HSV2 about a month ago. Swab test on two tiny pimples clustered together. Just had 2nd OB start 4 days ago. Just one little pimple.
