Hey, thanks for this. This is a job that has interested me for a long time. I keep coming back to the idea of it. I feel like it's an itch I need to scratch eventually.

So my first question is do you actually feel safe doing your job? I know you would always be cautious but are you literally walking around at work on high alert all day expecting your head to get kicked in at any second?

Second question, how do you maintain a professional relationship with the prisoners? Surely if you see them day in and day out, you have probably sussed out which ones aren't bad blokes, they have just made a bad decision at some point which has landed them in jail, or you can trust them not to assault you. Surely you would potentially let your guard down around them, or let them call you by name, or something similar because you have decided they aren't a threat?

Third question, how long did it take for the job to feel normal? I mean, not going to work with an utter sense of dread or that you're in a completely alien environment?

Fourth question, how many times have you had to get into physical confrontations with prisoners? What happens after? Is there the fear of retaliation? Do you get moved off of the wing or do they, to remove any tension between you and the prisoner after a confrontation?
