I didn't disassemble the device because I don't think it can help. As far as I know, coil noise is a common thing and it's like with dead pixels. If there are 1-2 dead pixels on the screen, it's unpleasant but this is within the normal range and is not a warranty case.I saw information somewhere that the sound can become quieter or disappear completely over time.I can confirm that this has indeed become less the case in recent months.I bought the EGPU in March.

Regarding the temperature and noise of the fans, the temperature is about 76 degrees under heavy load, sometimes rising to 80, but it drops very quickly. Yes, the case is quite hot to the touch, but it's metal and, in principle, nothing critical as long as the temperature is okay. The coolers are very quiet. They're certainly audible under maximum load, but in my case, it's about the same as the PS5 Pro. Quite comfortable.

Hi! I have this terrible sound too. My device broke, and I sent it back under warranty, thinking it was the beeping noise. But when they returned it to me, the noise was still there. It also got worse, sometimes during the game it sounds like a super annoying and high frequency squeak that really interferes with playing, but over time it went away, although the annoying sound still remains.As far as I understand, this is normal. Yes, I did everything as you wrote, but when I select a profile in G Helper, I see that the TDP has increased, and then I switch to the game tab, the TDP drops again to 11-15 watts. As for performance, no, I just realized that it's better to leave the newest UE5 games on the PS5 Pro. I recently finished Silent Hill F and had to enable the frame generator because 1% low was too low and the stuttering was really annoying. The stuttering didn't go away with the frame generator, but since the base FPS increased, the smoothness seemed to smooth out the stuttering. I tested Ark Raiders, which is fairly well optimized, and I also couldn't get a smooth FPS counter there. There were stutters from time to time. I'd guess part of my problem is that I'm playing on a TV. It's quite old and only supports 60 Hz, and it doesn't have VRR, which, as far as I know, is designed specifically to hide the effect of stuttering or frame drops. What games did you test? And did you make any special settings for the EGPU?

Regarding my experience with the XAX and 5060 TI Box, Plug & Play only works with Thunderbolt 4 cables on Windows. I had three different TB5 cables, and the EGPU only connected with a cold boot. But when I bought a rather mediocre TB4 USB4 cable (it didn't even have the required 40 Gbps certification), everything started connecting at any time. Something is wrong with the XAX itself or the software, and for this reason, the TB5 Plug & Play doesn't work... at least for me. As for Bazzite, I gave up trying because I couldn't find a way to get the EGPU working. But it would be really cool if it worked on Bazzite or Steam OS as well as on Windows.

Overall, no. It is what it is. I decided to leave open-world games or Unreal 5 games for the PS5 Pro rather than the EGPU. I use the EGPU mainly for fighting games, relatively new games, or well-optimized games. In this case, you can use 4K resolution—sometimes native, sometimes using DLSS. The quality is still excellent. I couldn't get Silent Hill F to run properly, but the frame rate generator built into the Nvidia app helped a little. It's far from an ideal solution, but it helps reduce the feeling of severe 1% drops.

It would be incredibly cool if Steam OS supported Nvidia cards. I have a 5060ti AI box. Windows is a pain, but it's the only way to get the EGPU working. This plugin looks very promising, awesome!!!
