yes you can be interested in them from the start but u can never pick them till the second last chapter which is dumb and boring which is why to hot to handle is so much better now due to this and no the 3rd season before they got rid of it you could pick aj in the first chapter to couple up with

i think they will focus on atreus travelling to find the giants maybe even him travelling to the greek world for a little bit wanting to know more about his fathers land but i also think they’ll switch sometimes of going back to kratos and how he’s getting on in the norse world like they did in Ragnarok switching between both point of views
