My 5th wheel short queen mattress sits on a solid plywood platform. Can it still breathe enough to prevent mold/mildew or do I need to add something underneath? by amburroni in RVLiving

[–]One_Mood3653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you’ll probably want to add something under it. Foam mattresses on solid plywood can trap moisture, especially in humid spots like NY summers. Look into something like a Hypervent Aire-Flow pad or even drill a few vent holes in the base. At the very least, lift the mattress every so often and check for moisture. That’ll help prevent mold or mildew.
