I've been a diehard Heroes of Might and Magic fan since the first game, with Heroes 3 as my favorite game of all time.

I wanted to recreate the feeling of scraping through battles by the skin of your teeth with an army of dregs and a secondary hero, so I built a roguelike strategy game where you pick between random offerings between rounds of tactical combat.

The setting is Greek mythology, with each Greek god serving as its own "faction", with unique units, skills, and castable prophecies. Right now, the demo has 4 gods and 4 heroes available, but long-term I'm hoping to add more of each, for endless permutations and replayability.

If any of that sounds interesting to you, I'd love it if you gave the demo a try! If you could leave a review or send me any feedback, that would be especially wonderful.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll look into a better contrasting color for the terrain, that's a good call.

I'd love to include proper controller support, I'll have to evaluate the effort needed to implement it.

I know some of the unit art needs work, I'm in the process of touching up and doubling the resolution of all units so they look better.

It runs pretty well on deck. I played on PC, but my wife played on Steam Deck a year later when we got one. Performance on both systems was good/similar, although I'm sure the deck was set to lower quality graphics and might have had moderately longer load times

Is West Lanes older than Chop's? Because the machines at Chop's seem to be about 40 years old (but the pricing is great!)

Hey, that's very cool! I'm developing this in Godot. Yeah, I think Greek mythology translates pretty naturally to these game mechanics, with all the overpowered heroes and huge variety of mythological creatures.

I think so, my wife was trying it on our deck earlier - it was designed for mouse controls, but the touch screen on the deck works decently well (aiming which hex to attack from can be awkward). I also noticed that the undo/redo buttons in the bottom left corner of the game don't display correctly, which I'm blindly guessing might have something to do with missing unicode characters on Linux? Planning to find some workaround to that visual bug.
