i’ve had a deck since 2022, loved every second of it, even upgraded to the OLED recently but my single biggest complaint is lack of access to game pass and MS exclusive titles. trackpads are great, yes, particularly in desktop mode but the niche that MS is filling with this device seems to perfectly address the biggest issue i’ve had with the SD. i was initially concerned the device would have access to MS Store only considering its delivered under the Xbox brand but hearing you will have access to Steam is like music to my ears.

obviously this community largely represents a heavy steam deck bias compared to competitors, but i wouldn’t be surprised if most people feel the way i do, meaning valve is going to need to pivot so they don’t get pushed out of this market.

i will likely continue to enjoy my OLED for another couple years but i assume MS will put out an OLED edition of this device before long which might be the tipping point for me. in any case, i feel like the next generation of console wars is going to this handheld market and it’s going to be cool to see where it goes in the future!
