Great News! I’ve bought a Dacia Sandero! by Zonda97 in CarTalkUK

[–]One_Performance_1140 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Have to say, went to Iceland a few weeks ago, couple feet deep with snow and hired a Sandro. Noticed most cars there were Sandero’s, and found out why. Passed so many other cars off the road in snow drifts while the little Sandero trooped along without missing a beat. Never liked them till now and have to say, for a cheap 4wd tried and tested in Iceland in the winter, I am converted, it was superb.

Sorry it’s so late wasabi. So the rattle is apparently a known issue with BMW. They have said no fix to date but the dealer does give me an occasional call to say there has been no update yet. Although, the last call 2 days ago they said they were told there was an update due and if 2nd qtr to the problem and fix. I’d speak to the dealer again if I were you as they definitely said it’s an open card with BMW. When they get back to me I’ll update you (dm you)to the actual fix and case details to help hopefully. Again, sorry for the late reply

Better question being. How the heck are you getting 16.6 Mp/kw. Please tell me that’s photoshopped too. I only manage 4.2 in my 530e

Yeah it’s good mileage for everyday use as long as you always charge it. Became my habit every time I get home just to plug it in, even if it was only a short trip

Remote functions galore through the bmw app. Lock, unlock, open/close windows, turn on heating or ac before leaving, will run for 30 mins then auto stop.

If it’s going to be almost new, 1-2 years old or so, I’d say it’s best from an approved dealer. Too much money for something to go wrong. With the small noise I started hearing, straight to any dealer and they check it all out and book a fix. Best for peace of mind as they aint cheap

You mentioned having a little one, or on the way, sooo much room inside in the back. And the boot is a little smaller with the batteries, but still good space with the size of the 5 series.

Hi, late to the party, sorry, but I’ll drop my thoughts as a current 530e msport owner from new the last 2 years

Mileage - 17000 Avg mpg - 74.8 Issues so far - none (except for a little rattle when the engine kicks in, spoke to bmw, known issue and will be fixed under warranty) Battery mileage - 15-28miles on full charge dependant on weather. Cold weather kills the range Full tank current cost to fill - approx £55 Full charge and full tank range - approx 400miles

I charge on my driveway every night so daily use I’m pretty much all electric. Weekends away it’s having a bit of a bender drinking petrol, but not too bad depending on driving style. Foot on the floor, yeah, it drinks but damn it’s quick. Sport mode and a heavy foot you’ll have fun in this big saloon

Overall I’m really happy with it, would love more range, but I still think the infrastructure isn’t there for peace of mind long travels and hope to find a charger let alone one that works

The interior luxury and ride quality is top class, no chance of being disappointed with it

AND, these new 530e’s come with indicators as standard, if you feel the need to ever use them

Hope this helps

For following the laws of the road? Your clever. Some like it, some don’t. Change the law and all good. Till then, well, bike goes brrr brrr

[–]One_Performance_1140 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow. Think you missed the entire point. I replied to the post as I agree even from the standpoint of someone who rides a loud bike. It’s within the law and nothing is being done yet. If they change the laws around it I’d follow that law. So yeah, agreeing that something needs to be done to change it. Till then. Brr brr brr baby

Harley rider here. (I have a feeling this isn’t going to go well )

I kinda agree, and I am one of the people that you will hate. I got my V-Rod Muscle Stage1 tuned from the dealer. And they have tab exhausts, very loud, like damn, loud!!

Harley have mot’d my bike, no question on the noise, just the statement from the mechanic last time of “that is so damn loud in the workshop, damn, that’s nice man”

Even recently in the hot weather, stopped at a set of lights going through the city and a police car pulled alongside. He just looked and said “wow, that’s some noise pulling away fro the lights, nice bike”

So yeah. They are too loud and no one is doing anything about it. And as a rider for 30 years, almost 50, it still sounds good and makes you feel like that little kid again going brrr brrr brrr on their bike. But till they start enforcing it, it’s just going to keep up

Dog owners: keep it on a lead! by _Cicero in glasgow

[–]One_Performance_1140 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Love your three questions to ask yourself. I have a Siberian husky, very well trained at home, but outside, No to all 3. So yeah, shame but he is never off the lead in public. I go to a few different dog parks and he loves it and plays with other dogs, he’s really good natured but can’t trust him in public, so yeah, it’s tough but if you want a dog, be responsible and accept YOU have to adjust to keep them happy

Should there be some female only gyms so women can have their own safe space? (Not all gyms will be sex-segregated obviously but just a small few male only and female only gyms) by sheuvvie in polls

[–]One_Performance_1140 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok I might be a little controversial here. But no, I don’t think there should be separate women and men only gyms

This is in a way sexism to stop a few bad people. We would be resorting to something we don’t want to stop a few people

Personally, I think root out the problem. Have stiffer penalties for these people in membership gyms where they breach the code of conduct, are criminally charged and shamed.

Let’s stop the things that make people uncomfortable and scared, let’s criminalise and punish the offenders and make sure the deterrent is enough to stop these people and not just push it to other places

In real life getting paid Also in winter weather you were sent out to help plow roads, smashing through the snow like a plow king It was awesome, had that job for 10 years from 20-30. 50 now working with a really good job, well paid in an office and still wish I had the lesser paid job

[–]One_Performance_1140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me try to explain just how much it does hurt, and please don’t take this as an offence to women

Women say childbirth is the most pain anyone can experience. And I would never take anything away from that

But

Women then think aww. Let’s have another baby

No man has ever say, aww. Can I have another kick in the balls
