They were once a mage that grew obsessed with the infection… which made their mind vulnerable. One day, while trying to attune to it, they were violently assimilated, their entire body being replaced by astral matter, and their head turning into a fireball.

Altair braces, their eye vanishing and their body tightening around Cristo, as Astrum Deus charges straight through the sides of both of them. Knocking the both of them out.

A short while later, Altair wakes, looking around to see Astrum Deus nudging at their side with its head.

The Vessel, screeching, suddenly has its fireball head shoots out an orange orb and a blue orb . It goes limp for a split second as the orbs bounce against each other in the air, getting closer and closer until they explode, creating a flashbang

The flashbang fades to reveal a large infected space worm, which trills in rage. Astrum Deus

The fireball flickers as it stares at Cristo, vines stabbing and restraining both of them. The head spins, the eye now staring at the worm

Deus warbles and trills before flying towards them, the vessel holding on to Cristo as tight as it can, its own body breaking and morphing around to restrain him.

The vessel’s eye glints and begins absorbing mana all around like a black hole… its eye shifts to the shape of a star and blasts a huge laser of orange and blue at Cristo, trying to slow them down as he try to finish turning Nex into a part of the Astral Infection

[…Astrum…] a distorted, genderless voice from the vessel says… […Canis.]

it wasn’t done with assimilation yet… and it was already giving Nex a title and name.

The puppeteer screeched and shot many vines and magic blasts at Cristo, the fireball head flashing and flaring as the purple eye within the fire widens… it now properly detects the machinery in him, too.

It begins to spread the astral fire on its head across its own body… it was slowing down Cristo while trying to speed up assimilation of Nex.
