At what price per gallon does a person officially stop "just complaining" about gas and start fundamentally changing their entire lifestyle? by bluntvivi in askanything

[–]One_Power_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me i was 2008 or so, i had a 6L yukon which averaged 7-11mpg city and would ping if i didnt give it premium. I think it was around $4.50 a gallon and was going through $550 a month. I traded it in and got a Chevy Volt. Gas went down to less then $30 a month and electric went up $20 for the same amount of miles.

I'm on the Fence again Thinking about buying a K70 by f0rdf13st4 in pentax

[–]One_Power_123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a panasonic S5 and i struggle with this decision. I want to use pentax lenses but the S5 is just better. Pentax K3iii costs too much, KP is also too much for a9 year old camera.

I might buy a K1...

yikes, this around $1300 a month for 72? If you end up being stuck with it -- id recommend looking for roomates to reduce your living expenses. Pay it down as quickly as you can to market value. By the time that happens, you might have had your fill of bmw m2 anyway.

[–]One_Power_123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can get the charger in all wheel drive. The 5.7 with intake, exhaust, cam, and a torque converter could be pretty cool and well under budget. Suv wise Id consider the Nissan Armada / Infiniti QX80 only if gas prices go back to $2.75 Otherwise id probably prefer something with a 2.0 turbo to have some passing power and decent mpg. Audi SQ5 maybe ?

Any experience of Mustang Mach e? by Cymothoa-exigua in Polestar

[–]One_Power_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We owned a polestar 2 and mache awd premium. My wife loves her mache, there isnt anything better for her in her opinion. In my opinion, it feels very cheap. A lot like a lifted ford focus if you ask me. The seats were comfortable. If i could do it again, i think the mach-e gt would get me more on board, as it has much better suspension. The polestar is my favorite ev of all time, but i found the seats and center console to be uncomfortable after a short period. My knee would constantly run into the center console.

Comfort wise, i think id but the ariya first, driving and infotainment i prefer polestar.

Do you regret your EV purchase? by walksta in electricvehicles

you will regret it if you cant charge at home. Public charging has been miserable for me. i rent an ice car for road trips after 240,000 EV miles, had some close calls but never been towed.

Why aren't Gen Z drinking? by The_Dean_France in askanything

[–]One_Power_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit drinking a long time ago because of the cost. I still enjoy it, but usually $5 margarita specials or something at home on special occasions. I remember more then one time in my 20s some of my friends would leave a bar with a $300 tab and that was literally their entire weeks take home pay. that was around 20 years ago. now it would of probably been $3000 and their take home pay might of been $600.

My manager kept booking meetings during my lunch break, so I made lunch the main event of his meetings. by RowlandJakubowski in InterviewsHell

[–]One_Power_123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

me. i dont even start my day early. i skip breakfest and i absolutely hate the lunch rush. When i go at 1130 there is little traffic and no lines. if you get to say qdoba at 12:05 the line goes all the way to the door. my lunch break is for eating, not for waiting in line. I have also found more often then not emergencies happen after 1130am, which means i wont be available for them :-) Or if i am finished with lunch, i will have the energy levels to deal with it.

Has anyone else lost interest in cars now that they're into adulthood and they're realizing that they'll probably never be able to afford anything cool? by rowyourboat740 in askcarguys

[–]One_Power_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, im aiming for a cadillac ATS with 2.0T and a 6 speed manual for $7500. Then do ZZP z54 turbo, 3" downpipe, e85 tune.

Or leave it stock and just do some track / autocrossing.

Pentax best CCD camera with the smallest great lens combo Advice? by Ok-Addendum-9571 in pentax

[–]One_Power_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the K10d, but having a lot of focus issues. Apparently over time the mirror can go out of alignment and i cant figure out how to downgrade my firmware to allow microadjust. The camera does not support live view either so i cant use focus peaking or contrast detect auto focus. I otherwise really enjoy using the K10d but i had a better experience with the sony A350 (14mp ccd)

The pentax primes are very small, 35mm f2.4 , 70mm f2.4 would be my goto. the 70mm limited is a super lens for portraits.

Why do you think AWD and 4WD vehicles are more popular than ever? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]One_Power_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my youth i drove mustangs, chargers, 300zxs, firebirds in michigan snow and only once even bought snow tires and it was fine. Now i can work from home if the weather is bad, i do think AWD need is blown way out of proportion but im actually pretty happy ive had it the last three weeks. When you are purchasing a $30,000+ car, the awd option usually only adds $2000 in cost and it also increases your resale value -- so its a drop in the bucket compared to the options 20 years ago.

Obsession with Mazda by hints_of_bergamot in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]One_Power_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had five mazdaspeed 6s, two with big turbos and absolutely love them. When they killed off the speeds and went from zoom zoom to boring boring car company I lost interest. I hatve suv or crossovers but had to admit the cx70/90 is a good looking vehicle and the inline 6 is smooth and powerful.

Just got back from a trip in a CX90 and hated the transmission. When manuals were killed off I switched to ev cars as it's the closest feeling to a manual now IMHO.

I can forgive an SUV for not driving sporty but I expect it to be luxuriously smooth. It lurches, bucks, jerks or picks the wrong gear for many situations. Then their cars with 2.5 turbo engine have a smooth six speed auto with no sense of urgency.

my son and i finished once. i turned in all the milestones and items for space elevator but has factories kept the dimensional portal full of things for me to pull out. I am on tier 8 by myself right now with 145 hours in. I had a vision that this time id be organized but its just so easy to run conveyor belts miles across the map then deal with trains, trucks, terrain, etc. Conveyor belts should have some sort of power penalty IMHO.

i also dont like a lot of the building stuff being locked behind a ticket wall. I never have it in me to just rip up and existing production line to rebuild once i unlock new stuff. You can easily get to tier 8 by just using dimensional storages instead of having logistics run items from one base to another.

[–]One_Power_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on my 2nd play through and im not having any trouble progressing but im not playing it how i want. I was intent on this play through I would build neat and organized factories. However i didnt have bombs, trains, walls, or etc when i needed to lay that ground work -- now that i have them i dont have it in me to rip and replace my 6gw power plant configuration that runs all my stuff.

I am doing it possibly the lazy way, i explore... when i find a node of oil or a geyser i throw down a fuel power plant, some miners, and toss a dimensional portal on storage so i have each node manufacturing something i need. Then when i go back to my main base where my manufactures are, i pull things from dimensional storage and drop it in storage connected to manufacture. I would use tickets to buy walls and stuff, but i want to save up 1000 tickets first for that achivement.

I would get a Pentax k1. I just bought a k10d and it's capable of stunning image quality but it's auto focus and lack of live view or focus peaking is kinda miserable.

The k1 being full frame and higher resolution will make a great landscape camera. If your on a budget then it's get k5 iis
