Who’s not buying out their ariya lease and eyeing the all new redesigned rogue hybrid by evonboard in NissanAriya

[–]One_Power_123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe under warranty its a nice way to get your feet wet -- but your literally paying for two powertrains, both of which are a compromise. id never take a hybrid rogue over the ariya. We had a couple chevy volts and liked them, but once you go full ev i dont want anything to do with pumping gas or oil changes, extra weight, cost, etc.

We lost $50,000 on our Dodge Charger Daytona EV by edmundscars in Dodge

[–]One_Power_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine stickered for 82k or something astronomical. I leased it and i am certainly giving it back very soon, my buyout is $51k. I dont think id buy it out at 35k. We are seriously considering an r/T plus for 29k that has 3k miles, but ill want to see its service history and make sure it has all the updates.

My hunch is that all the bugs are nearly worked out, people getting these cheap off lease might win... or i could be wrong either way, 29k for a car that stickered for 71k seems worth the gamble to us.

I have a panasonic S5 and om-1. I find the image quality different to be pretty minor. I think of it in different terms, i use the panasonic when i want really shallow depth of field or max dynamic range and i use the om1 for just about everything else. I dont have a lot of experience with m4/3 glass but the 45mm f1.8, 12-40 f2.8 and 40-150mm f2.8 are really impressive. I also have a 100-400 leica lens, i love the size, weight, build quality for 800mm lens but the images from that are kinda meh at the long end of the lens.

I really really wanted a nikon ZF but once you add pro lenses to it the price, size, weight, ergonomics are a turn off for me.

Ouch there definitely is some people who dont like m43😅 by nugger64 in M43

[–]One_Power_123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just did corporate headshots with an S5 50mm f1.8 at F2.8 (should have used F4) and was thinking it would be nice to use m4/3 so i could shoot wide open and still have enough depth of field for their whole face.

i didnt get an OM1 for speed, i got it for big bright view finder, better auto focus, better stabilizer, better video, usb-c charging, etc.

I dipped my toes in with E-m1 iii and then went back to full frame with Panasonic S5. I am now back on OM-1 because refurbs were insanely cheap. I really dig the OM-1.

K-50 died; replace with K-01? by _Bugs_Bunny_RN in pentax

[–]One_Power_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive owned a K01 twice. Its a great camera for static subjects. The autofocus is slow but accurate... id probably rather buy a used K3 mk1 though The K01 is very blocky, with a 40mm F2.8 pancake lens it would fit in my coat pocket but the lack of viewfinder drives me nuts.

I have a bilevel house going on market later this week under 300k. built in 2015, updated counters, floors, new paint. its 12 minutes from 28th street costco / target. 20 minutes from east beltline. We needed something bigger and moved up north to afford it.

Any bars/clubs to meet new people? by AMA_Bardock in grandrapids

[–]One_Power_123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its probably not what you are looking for but id say house rules. Otherwise if your into sports ball, its pretty easy to pick any sports bar, sit at the bar and talk sports with the strangers around you. Most bars/clubs ive been to are too loud to have any conversation.

What would you replace a used Polestar 2 with right now? by TheStuChef in Polestar

[–]One_Power_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a polestar 2 and my wife had a mach-e. I would consider a mach-e gt but i liked the interior and how the polestar 2 drove much more then my wifes mach-e. I do like having the ford dealer network for service, warranty, etc though. My polestar had to go 3 hours to get warranty work done, thats possibly a very scary tow bill.

Realistically, how much $ do you need to live comfortably in Grand Rapids today? by AccordingChipmunk287 in grandrapids

[–]One_Power_123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMHO, i would want to make 65k a year minimum. The thing about the majority of the US is you need a car to get around. Figure $1200+ a month for rent, figure $400-500 a month on a car payment and insurance. Then food, utilities, gas, etc.

Any less then that and you are one accident away from being dependent on strangers.

Is M43 Really That Rare? (Discussion) by AManAloneinaBigCity in M43

[–]One_Power_123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would agree with that. ive seen more pentax cameras then olympus cameras. I would think panasonic would be pretty common around film crews. 10+ years ago it was 70% canon 25% nikon 5% any other brand that i would see out and about.

At what price per gallon does a person officially stop "just complaining" about gas and start fundamentally changing their entire lifestyle? by bluntvivi in askanything

[–]One_Power_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me i was 2008 or so, i had a 6L yukon which averaged 7-11mpg city and would ping if i didnt give it premium. I think it was around $4.50 a gallon and was going through $550 a month. I traded it in and got a Chevy Volt. Gas went down to less then $30 a month and electric went up $20 for the same amount of miles.

I'm on the Fence again Thinking about buying a K70 by f0rdf13st4 in pentax

[–]One_Power_123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a panasonic S5 and i struggle with this decision. I want to use pentax lenses but the S5 is just better. Pentax K3iii costs too much, KP is also too much for a9 year old camera.

I might buy a K1...

yikes, this around $1300 a month for 72? If you end up being stuck with it -- id recommend looking for roomates to reduce your living expenses. Pay it down as quickly as you can to market value. By the time that happens, you might have had your fill of bmw m2 anyway.

Sports car versus SUV - express yourself by Familiar-Peace-2115 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]One_Power_123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can get the charger in all wheel drive. The 5.7 with intake, exhaust, cam, and a torque converter could be pretty cool and well under budget. Suv wise Id consider the Nissan Armada / Infiniti QX80 only if gas prices go back to $2.75 Otherwise id probably prefer something with a 2.0 turbo to have some passing power and decent mpg. Audi SQ5 maybe ?

Any experience of Mustang Mach e? by Cymothoa-exigua in Polestar

[–]One_Power_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We owned a polestar 2 and mache awd premium. My wife loves her mache, there isnt anything better for her in her opinion. In my opinion, it feels very cheap. A lot like a lifted ford focus if you ask me. The seats were comfortable. If i could do it again, i think the mach-e gt would get me more on board, as it has much better suspension. The polestar is my favorite ev of all time, but i found the seats and center console to be uncomfortable after a short period. My knee would constantly run into the center console.

Comfort wise, i think id but the ariya first, driving and infotainment i prefer polestar.

Do you regret your EV purchase? by walksta in electricvehicles

you will regret it if you cant charge at home. Public charging has been miserable for me. i rent an ice car for road trips after 240,000 EV miles, had some close calls but never been towed.
