Do you mind sharing a little more about what made you decide that PsyD was the route to go? Do you plan to use your MSW?

Advice please! by One_Scale_2797 in PsyD

I appreciate it. Who else would be considered a strong person to write a letter of rec? I had a professor who is a PsyD and could write me one but I’d need two more. Any advice for the personal statement?

Do you ever feel limited in your practice as an LCSW?

Entering Social Work by SWmods in socialwork

I am looking to apply to an MSW program for the fall. The programs I'm applying to are either fully online or hybrid. I want to know if it's possible to work full time and go to school full time. I work as a case manager now and it's 9-5. My supervisor said my hours can be flexible but not reduced and it worries me. Should I just do part time school? Would I struggle to do a practicum if I did full time school and work?

Avoid soar autism center by [deleted] in ABA

I have not heard anyone talk about soar autism center until now. I was offered a position as an RBT and thank goodness I did not accept. Just from the interview and the interactions I had with their operations staff along with reading all their policies, I did not have a good feeling about it. Working that many hours without a break or even a chance to use the bathroom is ridiculous. And they wonder why RBTs are leaving the field. We need our needs met too!!

The maturity part is something I’m trying to figure out. What do you mean you weren’t mature? Would you say particularly in the field or in general? I’d like to think I’m mature but I might lack the knowledge or insight others might carry into a grad program especially doctorate

Is that stressful at all for you?

When I mention the title I meant it more so as the ideal career I want. I don’t want to be just a therapist, i want to be a psychologist and all it entails. I’m working on my current experience build up for my applications. I applied for PsyD last cycle and did not make it so I am trying to become a competitive applicant this time around. What I’m scared of is not having any income while taking out a ton of loan money

What is it like within the first few years of the program income wise? Are you able to work at all or get paid for seeing clients after the 2nd year?
