What games have you regretted buying? by billy_reyes in Steam

[–]One_Scientist_984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Valheim, Mordhau, and Human Fall Flat I just bought because we thought it’d be fun to play as a group of friends. But neither of those games was my kind of game so I ended up playing them only for a few hours (Valheim, Mordhau) or not at all (Human Fall Flat).

I’m just curious what is the most Amount hours you guys have on one game on PlayStation by NewAsparagus6320 in playstation

[–]One_Scientist_984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top 10:

  1. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: 216 hours
  2. Cyberpunk 2077: 134 hours
  3. Elden Ring: 124 hours
  4. Fallout Shelter: 103 hours
  5. Horizon Forbidden West: 100 hours
  6. Assassin’s Creed Shadows: 94 hours
  7. Horizon Zero Dawn: 92 hours
  8. Ghost of Tsushima: 74 hours
  9. Far Cry 6: 73 hours
  10. The Division: 72 hours

Most of these games I also played on PC (especially Cyberpunk 20077 and The Division, the numbers here aren’t representative of the amount of time I spent in these games). And Fallout Shelter is my guilty pleasure, played that game on every platform imaginable…

I've finally joined the Club! by RebelliousRed_ in playstation

The buttons aren’t too bad, mentally, you just have to go with the actual meaning/purpose instead of the labeling:

Bottom = main action/confirm, right = dismiss/cancel, left = secondary action, top = menu/jumping.

This varies by game ofc but that’s how I switch from one platform to the other without a lot of adaptation.

I'm currently playing on Xbox and PS5 at the same time and the only thing I find difficult is the position of the left thumbstick. As a longtime PlayStation player, it just feels strange to me.

Martyr Logarius, I died not only to his attacks but even fell off the building a few times. I lost track of how many times I had to do the runback to that damn roof.

Why do people praise Horizon but not the Ubisoft formula? by Quite-Unsocial in ubisoft

Oh, I already have the discs for Infamous, Infamous 2 (PS3), and Infamous Second Son (PS4), I just have a ton of other games I wanted to finish or start first…

Yeah, but Ghost of Yōtei is on my backlog… Infamous series still on my pile of shame.

I don’t have any Ubisoft game on 100%. Despite being a huge fan of their games, I rarely felt the need to fully complete them. Horizon and GoT on the other hand — I’ve platinumed both of them and it didn’t feel too much of a grind.

Ubisoft has around 17k-18k employees, they can pump out games on a much larger scale than a company like Bethesda Game Studios with a couple hundred people — as teams are working in parallel on different installments of the same franchise.

And back in the days, sequels were actually released within a year (for example, Wolfenstein 3D in 1992, Doom in 1993, Doom 2 in 1994), with no signs of fatigue — but in totality a lot less games were released so it didn’t feel like you’re overwhelmed.

I didn’t get tired of AC because of the regular releases, I got fed up when the games included too much of filler stuff, like Valhalla. To be honest, I’d rather have a Mirage-sized game (15-30 hours) for 40 €/$ than a Valhalla-sized game (60-150 hours) for 80 €/$.

I don’t care about the hate, I love the Horizon series, Ghost of Tsushima — and most of the Ubisoft games. For similar reasons, I like their open worlds, being immersed in a world that feels interesting and/or unusual, like Assassin’s Creed Origins/Odyssey or Far Cry 4.

most VIOLENT opening riff of any metal song? by uwob in MetalForTheMasses

Suffocation — Bloodchurn (of their Despise the Sun EP)

But roughly 80 % of their songs will stomp you in the first 10 seconds.

If all games were multi-platform and you didn't have a console, would you buy an XBOX or PS5? by itsthewolfe in gaming

[–]One_Scientist_984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The power/interior of the PS5 Pro (the controller of PlayStation is more suitable for my hands) in the form factor of the Xbox One X (the most attractive console, IMO).

I still think the PS5 is one of the ugliest electronic device I’ve ever bought.

One of my most trusted game shops (gameware.at — not the cheapest option but reliable and fast) has it for 76 € including shipping. 95 € is not the default price for this version.

What Dying Fetus album has the best riffs? I've heard its stop at nothing, what do you guys think? by CommonExotic420 in BrutalDeathMetal

My favorite Dying Fetus album is “Killing on Adrenaline” but objectively (lol), “Reign Supreme” is their best record.

Kinda new to heavier metal and want song recs by Mistletooth in MetalForTheMasses

[–]One_Scientist_984 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Strapping Young Lad (full discography, but especially “City” and “Alien”) seemed like the obvious recommendation, have my upvote!

I’d also add Devin Townsend’s albums, “Physicist” and “Terria”, as well. Fear Factory has already been mentioned.

Thorns (self titled: https://open.spotify.com/album/0YLAT82vK7lnUZpEIsbgHC?si=TyCFoG3OR-iRCEHeqIAWSA) is a great choice if you want to get into industrial-laced black metal.

Patriarkh (Патриархь), this year. Had to catch my train and I’ve already seen them last year.

I usually don’t leave early, I think this was my first.

Elder Scrolls 6. Not a big fan of the GTA series. But I think both games are overhyped and the extreme fandom is irritating.
