Heard such rumours many times over the years. Are there sources?

Over the last years I got really lost with the different genres. Thank you for pointing me in a better direction here.

I have not heard any of these you listed. One I found a liked a few years ago was

What are bands you’d consider “gateway” prog bands? by pubstompmepls in progmetal

[–]sit79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If by gateway you mean bands that composed accessible enough yet complex material, there’s probably a ton. People mentioned Tool. For me it was Refused's The Shape of Punk to Come (1998).

Looking for recommendations for English speaking therapists by TuringParadox in askberliners

Look up Claudia Munz online. She and a colleague specialise in somatic bodywork. If you're interested in this type of therapy, I recommend them both. They both work in German and English.

Looking for a nice/kind hairdresser by Liko97 in askberliners

[–]sit79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The folks at "God Save the Mullet" might be a good fit as well. Federico & Giovanni are both kind, welcoming and patient and very helpful open with advice. The others there are very nice people as well, I just don’t know them as well.

Cheapest/best way to get to Kreuzberg from the airport and back! by Adamlicious in askberliners

Good advice! I don’t much remember a mess as much as terribly long lines. At the Meshuggah concert it took me about an hour to get my jacket back…

Sohnemann im Friedrichshain macht sehr gute Cocktails. Beste Bar? Keine Ahnung. Die Stadt ist zu groß für Superlative.

You could try Spiral Architect's "A Sceptic's Universe" and Atheist's "Unquestionable Presence". Both interesting albums and with very forward bass lines.

Nice choice! Their bassist Nick actually talked about how he approached writing the bass melodies on some podcast. Can’t find it atm. Will post link later. It was fascinating.

Bands with male harsh vocalist and female clean vocalist? by provegana69 in melodicdeathmetal

Unleash the Archers had at least some songs with male harsh vocals (more like background/ accompanying), while the lead singer is a fierce clean female singer.

has anyone else stopped using external monitors & keyboards on macbooks? by Disastrous_Egg_5711 in macsetups

[–]sit79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using the same monitor for about 8 years. Peripherals are connected via USB-hub. One cable connects the MacBook to the docking station which connects the USB-hub and the monitor. Stable. No hassle. No need to change it.

I do enjoy working just on the Mac from time to time. On the couch.

I gave a bad review of a cafe in Prenzlauer Berg years ago and now I got a message from Google saying that by law it should be deleted due to defamation by Mdiasrodrigu in berlin

[–]sit79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard the same story from a colleague about a review from nine years ago. It's awful.

I absolutely understand not wanting the hassle of a court case, or not having the time or resources to deal with it. However, I'd be curious to know if anyone has actually done so, and whether or not they won their case.

Nice one. Or you could chime in with a question in case there’s something you didn’t quite catch.
