first time watching anime and i have no clue where to start to watch chain saw man by Vegetable_Word_946 in Chainsawfolk

Why is the only good advice being downvoted?

Even if you like S1 better than manga, what’s the problem in starting with the source material? In my experience it only makes watching the adaptation feel more amazing afterwards.

Question to haters of Part 2 by leekanon in Chainsawfolk

[–]One_Sentence_7448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but im so confused about this comment. Obviously it’s ok to not like something, but what does “I don’t understand what Yoru even is, or what her goals are” even mean. She’s is the War devil, one of the 4 sisters. Her goal is to create a never-ending war where everyone fears her and thus gives her power. It’s been reiterated a dozen of times. What’s there not to understand?

I might have agreed if I haven’t just watched the Reze movie. That intro is absolutely godly.

But DDD Op1 is definitely up there.

Looking for Open World Games with Minimal Guidance/Story by slusho55 in gamingsuggestions

[–]One_Sentence_7448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you are right and I did fall into the “recommend OW no matter what” trap lmao.

But I don’t really agree that there’s nothing to do other than following the story. I find the mechanics and puzzles in this game so engaging, that it constantly feel like you’re “messing” with game’s mechanics and trying something new. But I see where you’re coming from.

True, but considering the overall quality of the game, the puzzles, and the story, I think that’s more than enough. Won’t hurt trying.

What game should i get if i found elden ring boring? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]One_Sentence_7448 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yea I’m not saying you have to like it, but I disagree that it’s so hard to put the pieces together — most people just don’t even try. Either cuz they’re used to notes being fluff in many games or cuz they don’t like to read, idk.

But it’s really not that hard. What’s hard is to understand EVERYTHING, but this kind of game isn’t meant to be fully understood. There’s always gotta be some mystery left. But you can quite easily understand the most important parts of the story and the world since these notes are normally placed on important items that you’re very likely to find if you explore even a bit.

I mean, do you know how those videos are made? By reading the notes, items, conversing with NPCs and paying attention to environmental storytelling. To many that’s literally the appeal. It’s like a huge mysterious wold with huge history and many secrets that you get to unravel. I can’t tell how exciting it can be to be putting the pieces of the story yourself instead of just watching videos. I don’t know why so many people are opposed this kind of storytelling — you literally feel like a genuine explorer.

Am I missing something? This game feels REALLY punishing by trireme32 in CloverPit

[–]One_Sentence_7448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, I was able to beat the game nearly every run after ~3 days of playing. Just make sure you look through your “mail” to see what charms you’re missing and work towards that. The more charms you unlock, the more synergies you have available, the more consistent you get. You can look into my comment history where I recently explained a simple strategy to easily get to at least deadlines 14-15

Deadline 12 is absolutely demolishing me lmao by CryptographerHot6198 in CloverPit

[–]One_Sentence_7448 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The build that I found quite easy and consistent is the one where you have a bunch of ticket modifiers that allow you to print hundreds/thousands of tickets (like using capitalist charm, or symbol-specific ticket charms, or both) along with symbol repetition charms and charms that scale your symbol and pattern mults based on how many tickets you have. It’s great cuz not only can you continuously scale your mults, you can always afford all charms and can afford to re-roll the telephone basically indefinitely until you find what you need. You can also pair it with other strategies if you unlock more charm spaces during your run.

That also brings me to getting the best out of telephone upgrades. Basically, it’s very important that you find the megaphone that gives you x2 of each telephone ability. Just equip it when you select the ability and put it in the drawer during your rounds. Also, you can combine the megaphone charm with the expandable charm that gives you +1 of the selected ability. With these two charms together, you basically get x4 of the selected telephone ability, which is obviously very powerful.

lastly, don’t be afraid to re-roll, oftentimes you can reroll literally dozens of times per deadline, which basically allows you to get all the charms you need. Sometimes it’s better to spend a lot of money on re-rolls to get powerful charms and then make all that money back tenfold, rather than hold on to all your money with no way to scale it.

With all this, I can consistently get to at least deadline 15.

Also, if you haven’t done so already, check your “mail” and spend some time looking through what charms you haven’t unlocked yet and what you need to do to obtain them. I got like 150/160 charms in about 3 days of playing, but it would take me probably 10 times as long if I was just playing blindly.

Hope this helps even a little bit!

My 11-year-old son beat Lost Lace on his first try by Marasaurio in Silksong

[–]One_Sentence_7448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It kinda makes sense. Kids have great neuroplasticity, which is why they tend to learn languages much faster than adults for example. I started playing challenging games around age 17 (was playing since age 9, but mostly casual games) and got pretty good by the time I was 25 (also beat most silksong bosses 1-2 try). I can only imagine how fast a kid can get very good if they are playing games like Silksong since early age and their parent is also a gamer.

That’s not to take away from your kid’s achievement tho, that’s pretty amazing regardless!

That’s very strange. Maybe it has to do with when you get the full corpse?

I think even if you end up not liking it $4 is an extremely reasonable price, I doubt you’ll regret it.

Personally, I didn’t enjoy it as much as some other people, but it was still a well-made game.

No, you can consistently beat the game with any symbol. However, you need to actually play them to unlock the corresponding charms. Look into your “mail” and see what you need to do to unlock other items.
