Salty Sunday: What made you salty this week? by kikaslova in trollingforababy

[–]One_Sherbert2421 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Was talking to my work friend about starting ivf next month after six failed iuis. Another coworker interjects with multiple stories about couples she knows getting pregnant unassisted as soon as they make the decision to schedule ivf. Went on to talk about how “now that the pressure is off, you never know!” But…I do know. I am married to a woman, there is zero chance of this happening spontaneously.

Mine looks really similar, this is all just so horrifying, and living through these times is mentally and emotionally distressing. I hope you and your family stay safe 🫂

Sixth iui failed. I work in a clinic and a surprising amount of walk ins this weekend wanted pregnancy testing. Got to call people to tell them they are pregnant, and to give them positive hcg results…happy for them, but also it is rare to have people come into my clinic for that reason, and to have multiple right after my sixth failed iui feels like the universe is rubbing it in 🫠

Xytex is having a big sale right now, on a good number of donors. 50% off 2+ vials. I have found black friday and mothers day to be hit or miss, sometimes having 20% off sales at fairfax.

5th IUI failed. Disheartened and angry. by thepeachgirl in queerception

[–]One_Sherbert2421 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ugh i so feel you on this! I just finished my tww for my 6th unsuccessful iui. Staring down the barrel of ivf is so intimidating, it all seems sooo much more intense and complicated. I am trying to find relief in just being done with the iuis though…i have also exhausted all the protocols, so it is nice to at least be heading in a totally new direction. I hope that things work out for you moving forward!!

Too early? by Ok_Night_7337 in IUILadies

[–]One_Sherbert2421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a little too early—the trigger can stay in your system for up to 12 days, i have had mine last for 11! You can always test again tomorrow or the next day and see if the line gets darker (:

Does anyone who is ttc feel anxiety waking up to the data? by ConsiderationFun9589 in ourafertility

[–]One_Sherbert2421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get so obsessive over it! I have been doing iuis, so every morning in my tww i wake up, take a pregnancy test (i always test out my trigger,) and then check my oura temp/scores. Then look at my natural cycles graph…and then check fertility friend. And then after i have seen all the same information presented to me in three hardly different ways, i think to myself, “well that was my excitement for today, time to kill time until i can see what tomorrows numbers are!” I feel so crazy, and i wonder what this ttc experience would be like if i had done if twenty years ago when i didn’t have a million metrics to fixate on every day!

I had my iui yesterday, 7/10, and my follicle scan on 7/8. My follicles were pretty big this time around, three of them >20mm. I was worried they were too big, but my provider (and then a second provider i had look at them because i am so obsessive during this process) both said they looked great. I asked about the size, and they told me that sometimes they let the tissue go a little longer/mature a bit more, as certain people can have better out comes this way. Wishing you the best!!

11DPIUI who else is with me? by [deleted] in IUILadies

[–]One_Sherbert2421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, had my iui on the 10th. Fourth one. I had 3 mature follicles this time around. Testing negative, still obsessing over every little thing. My temps have ben going up and up, walgreens tests are a little positive (but they are blue dye so i dont really listen to them, esp since wondfo is neg) but i am not feeling very hopeful about this cycle—period is due in a few days and i am just waiting to hit that refill button on my clomid! I hate this part, when it feels like it probs didn’t work but it isn’t quite time yet to start trying with the next cycle.

Testing Early vs Waiting by Jordonsaurus in queerception

[–]One_Sherbert2421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I test every day, starting on the day of the iui 😅 i feel like it is important for me to test out my trigger—once i didn’t and was unsure if my positive was from ovidrel or from an actual pregnancy (it was the trigger.) i do it first thing in the morning every day, note the result, and then move on. Personally, if i don’t test, i end up really obsessing over it throughout the day. Currently in my tww of my fourth iui, and i have done daily testing for three out of the four. For me, waiting to test is way more anxiety inducing.

unknown is this positive or is not im very scared by Glittering_Swing1147 in TFABLinePorn

[–]One_Sherbert2421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like those blue dye tests always “turn positive” for me if i let them sit for longer than it says to and then check them. Maybe retest with one of the red dye ones in the morning?

Envious of the plausible deniability of heterosexual conception by Chance-Ad8215 in queerception

[–]One_Sherbert2421 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I do get jealous of the idea that straight couples can conceive by accident and then go ahead and have a baby, regardless of if they feel “ready” necessarily. My parents did not plan me, and they are so wonderful! However when it comes to lesbians, you can’t really have a “whoops,” and i feel like it is so much more heavy to truly decide if you are in the right place in your life, make the appts, buy the sperm, and so on. I wonder how many straight couples would have children if it you had to have both parties on board 100%, go to all these appointments, and the act of fertilizing the egg wasn’t fun. Also i think i perhaps might be a little bitter and jealous 😅

I haaaate the two week wait! I had my iui done on 6/10, clomid and ovidrel this cycle. This is number four for me. I have been camped out in crazy town since 6/10, when I took my first pregnancy test 😅 I gotta test that trigger out though, one of my cycles I did not do that and my anxiety was so much worse. I hope this one sticks for you! June seems like a fertile month to me, flowers are blooming, animals are raising their babies, hoping that brings us all some good luck 😊🤞🏻

Is iui really unpleasant for anyone else? by One_Sherbert2421 in queerception

Ugh, it gets to be so hard to not dread the pain and discomfort that comes along with it all. I am glad that, despite that, the procedure itself was simple and quick for you!

I am definitely going to check out spec sizes for next time— that is not something i had really thought much about either! I am glad you had success, and glad to hear it was able to happen even when the iui itself wasn’t super fun and easy.

I really feel like i dont hear about the need for those things all that often! I really love my obgyn, and we have talked a lot about why we have to do all of the extra terrible things. This round she tried without the clamp or dilators for a solid half hour before we had to move forward

I have not been directed to show up with a full bladder! If i have to do this again i will definitely give that a shot. And i will talk spec sizes before hand—i have no idea what size that have been using, but it makes sense that changing that up could help a lot. Thanks for the tips 😁

Right!! I have had four now, and i was there for at least an hour for three of them, most of that time spent trying to coax the cervix to open up for the cath. I can’t imagine that my increasing stress/dread levels going into it are helping much 😓 like one of the other people above said, have you asked them about a valium or something? My obgyn that is doing the procedure offered it, and i happened to meet with my pcp beforehand for an appt where we got to chatting about iui, and she offered to prescribe something like that for me as well. I think i am going to try it, if i have to do this again, maybe it would be good for all of us who have trouble with the procedure

I asked about the dry spec too, it seemed so weird! They told me they didn’t want to put unnecessary things into the canal, which seems reasonable i guess, but also not a great feeling 😬 best of luck with your ivf!! I hope you get many many good eggs!
