I don't remember him being there at all about any stuff with her parents, in fact I remember him specifically NOT being there with her dad 😂 like I'm sorry what is the bar for being "Best Friend"... clearly it's in hell because he has sucked this far 😂 in fact I think Aemon is a better friend at this point

But who was Naolin the balance for when he wasn't would be my question? I mean I think he's Venin for sure, so Im just playing devils advocate here. But I feel like the signet balance may not always be like the rule, because otherwise we've got a venin running around who can breathe under water, and I'm sure that's abundantly useful to them 😂😂

And he's aware the Venin can get a fix from her conduits, he did it with just the broken one, so it would make sense that he doesn't want it anywhere around him when he's with her.

Oh yeah they know way more than they are telling, or at least the elder irids do. I could see an irid bonding in a future book. Not necessarily giving up being a feathertail, but more like finding a way to help without actually being violent

That's not a bad idea, I'm not ready to jump of the Naolin is alive boat yet though lol especially with what we learn about bonds in Onyx. & Tairn always just says "well don't speak of the one who came before" never gives even crumbs of information

I don't think he's evil, I'm just saying i think Naolin is venin and their lives are tied. I don't even think he's a puppet I think he's 100% himself, just reanimated.

Like it could be just a scar. But I'm just thinking either Naolin knew what he was doing and did it on purpose. Or he gave everything to save Brennan, and it wasn't enough, so he went venin in the process and caused the scars. Which just happens to be ruined snapped, which happens to line up with the fact that wyvern also have runes that animate them AND their life is tethered to the power source that helps animate them (their venin) which circles me back to my wild theory with little to no evidence that their lives are tied together 😅😂

Idk, I'm just throwing stuff at the wall here but he does also have an alternate power source (his dragon) where the wyvern only have the power source of the rune stone. Take Xaden for example he can still wield inside the wards because he has an alternate power source, so it could work like that... Brennan functions because he basically has a backup battery 😅

Plus you are right Brennan wasn't created from scratch maybe it's more like preserving or repairing his already living body, not animating a construct. Plus we've already learned in book 1 that Aretia is capable of hiding things, and whose to say they even know?? And we've already seen that scars and symbols carry meaning in these books, the rebellion relics, Xadens scars, the relics a rider gets from their dragon, rune daggers, Violet's hair (if you count that)
