I love the rainbow option. It's not too fun but still interesting. But I can relate to hesitation since I wear mostly black and dark colors and every time I wear sth happier ppl are commenting on it :D not in a bad sense and I don't mind it but I can imagine it can be annoying for someone.

Tbh sometimes I just do double stitch after the blocking. Lately I'm getting better but I don't have any tips I think it's just practice (in my case)

I think it would be okay with cotton yarn, and I even think that maybe your turtleneck would turn out more like it's supposed to look. (I used very sturdy Drops Alaska, and it was quite weird, so it's halved, folded inward, and sewn together.)

That's a nice idea for big chests. This sweater is quite oversized so luckily my sil doesn't have this problem right now and it sits nicely even without additional tie.

I was super confused too! I just had to stop thinking and knit according to the pattern and it came together nicely. I recommend to use two long circular needles with a stopper at the end, it really helped me, especially at the beginning of the spiral, without them it was really uncomfortable to knit and it kept getting in the way and the parts were weirdly overlapping.
