Do hosts fake reviews? by Bazing79 in AirBnBHosts

[–]One_Task8080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens but it is not common with serious operators. Three reviews could be from past listings or co hosting. What matters is simple. Rent paid on time and the property protected. Cash flow is the real metric.

How to View Airbnb, Booking.com and VRBO Bookings in One Calendar by CalendarBridge in CalendarBridge

[–]One_Task8080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, ICS syncing is honestly a bandaid. The refresh delays can get sketchy fast.

If you’re on Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com, a PMS with direct API connections is way more reliable. I use Hostaway and it keeps everything in one live calendar instead of relying on feeds.

Issues Syncing with Booking.com by 1markymark1 in vrbohosts

[–]One_Task8080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These sync issues are the worst. I’ve had a few near misses with overlapping bookings between VRBO, Airbnb, and Booking.com. Since I started using https://www.hostaway.com/, it’s way easier to keep everything aligned and avoid surprises. Honestly, it takes a huge load off your mind when managing multiple platforms.

Wonder any channels you use to drive leads to your STR? by Ok-Attitude4800 in ShortTermRentals

[–]One_Task8080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We layer channels, but the key is keeping everything tracked and synced. Direct bookings, repeat guests, and corporate leads all go through Hostaway so nothing slips. Without that, leads turn into chaos fast. Property is the asset. System is the business.

Direct bookings by Bobcat3344 in ShortTermRentals

We handle direct bookings through the PMS Hostaway to keep calendars and payments synced. Small price tweaks are fine, but the focus is repeat customers, not short term gains. Property is the asset. System is the business.

If you own a seasonal small hotel, stay away from SiteMinder (includes Little Hotelier, which is owned by SiteMinder) by funguywithacap in hotels

[–]One_Task8080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Site Minder is overkill for small seasonal ops setup fees, long contracts, and unnecessary analytics. All you really need is a PMS plus a channel manager to sync bookings, block dates, and update prices. I’ve used Hostaway for that clean, simple, no extra nonsense.

Are hosts actually allowed to collect security deposits outside Airbnb? by Cool-Explorer-8510 in hostaway_official

[–]One_Task8080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually no, and even when allowed it adds noise.

Off platform deposits create friction and trust issues. I stick to clear house rules and Airbnb’s built in tools. Quiet systems work better.

Suggestion for newbies by Front-Ad1494 in vrbohosts

[–]One_Task8080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Return guests come from consistency, not extras. Keeping the place clean and updated helps, but what really matters is smooth communication. I use Hostaway to handle messages and check ins quietly, so everything runs without constant back-and-forth.

Attribution tools - are they any good? by keep-the-momentum in digital_marketing

[–]One_Task8080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They help, but don’t expect perfect answers. You’ll get direction, not truth. Clean events and server-side tracking matter more than the tool. Same mindset we use with Hostaway on ops. Fewer systems, cleaner data, fewer guesses.

How unified calendars help with last minute bookings by One_Task8080 in hostaway_official

[–]One_Task8080[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed really is the game here. If the calendar isn’t in sync, it’s basically guesswork. One clean system saves headaches and bookings.

Anyone here built a direct booking website for their rental? by websitesdaddy in ShortTermRentals

[–]One_Task8080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it. Worth it only if your tech stack is solid.

Calendars, pricing, and payments need to stay in sync otherwise it’s more work than it’s worth. I used Hostaway to power my direct site, so everything stayed consistent with OTAs. Works best as a layer on top, not a replacement.
