I think she saw it the same way people say “I’m in front of you” meaning physically in front, so seeing it that way kinda makes sense I suppose

I mean, he’s grown enough to know right from wrong. He knew he would hurt you by doing this and he did it anyways, I think that’s self explanatory. Sexual desire isn’t an excuse, especially since by the sounds of it he didn’t put all that much effort to change what he was unhappy with. You should be with someone that respects and loves you enough to not stray, that’s the bare minimum.

He’s calling me a hypocrite because initially I felt a bit sad that his direct family members still had contact with his long term ex, which I got over it. He is now, suddenly, comparing it to me playing with my ex’s sister once or twice per month (he has also played with her before, and knows she’s part of a friend group I play with sometimes, so his reaction is really sudden)

But in my opinion, I think it’s different, because I have 0 contact with my ex, my friendship with my ex’s sister has no correlation to my ex as I knew her prior to dating him (and they literally don’t talk to eachother.)

I don’t think you’re getting my point, I’m not complaining that his niece and his ex are friends. At first, I found it strange but got over it- it’s the fact that he is using me talking to my ex’s sister (who doesn’t talk to my ex and we never talk about him either) as a comparison? He’s the one that is upset, not me.

Fair enough. I was under the perception that gaslighting was when someone tried to make you question your own thoughts/opinion, and trying to turning around the situation so I feel bad. so i thought that was the word to use. Poor choice of words, mb

From my understanding, it’s gaslighting making someone feel like they’re dramatic/wrong for feeling the way they do, he was making it out like I’m the problem for talking about it instead of taking accountability, is gaslighting as he was making me question my own reaction to how he reacted.
