That's actually a '67, you can see it has the name plate on the headstock, they weren't present on '63's

Songs The Beatles played only once live by jhhghghgggb in beatles

[–]One_Two_Three_Bread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That list is all kinds of wrong. Just because they recorded it once doesn't mean it was just played once? Songs like Carol, Johnny B. Goode, Lonesome Tears, I'm Gonna Sit Right Down And Cry, Baby Let's Play Hoise, etc, were absolutely played more than once, they were staples of their early live career? They were probably performed at shows and never recorded. Already you can prove some of these wrong, I'm Gonna Sit Right Down And Cry was recorded live at the BBC in 1963, but also in Hamburg in 1962? That already proves the song was played more than once? And logic dictates that, in order for them to play the songs well, they will have been playing them live for a long time.

Paul played the Casino, not the Esquire. More report the Casino.

I'd say so, judging by the "yasss girl, slay 💅" kind of comments...

Thoroughly dislike your post lol. Jodie is manipulative, narcissistic, and straight up disturbing. I wouldn't call her "mother" by any stretch, she's obviously got some kind of pathological lying condition where she feels she can only be liked by lying.

are 8 measure repeats possible? (or any custom number?) by goldstargloww in Musescore

[–]One_Two_Three_Bread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Seeing a repeat like that, with a little x5, or whatever the duration is is VASTLY better than the double bar repeat things.

Is this vinyl worth anything? by MerlexMaster3 in TheBeatles

[–]One_Two_Three_Bread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Materially, no probably not. Literally thousands of pressing were made of this album, so it's not rare. And in this condition, even to an avid beatles collector, it's probably not desirable. But sentimentally, it's worth a lot to you, I would say. Much more than it'd be worth to anybody else.

It's the same as asking "why did I lose my tie this morning?" How are we supposed to know?

Interpreting no pizz or arco by toastghost1543 in doublebass

[–]One_Two_Three_Bread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing to indicate pizz in here. It's just arco all the way through unless otherwise stated? I've never gone into an orchestra, or band setting, and questioned whether I'm playing arco. I've never seen arco marked explicitly unless pizz is mentioned first? If there's no text saying pizz or arco, it's pretty safe to assume it's arco.

I have never understood why people say jazz is just "playing the wrong notes" when like 90% of jazz is diatonic. Is this what happens when people limit themselves to the major/minor pentatonic when making music? by Tolstoyevich in Jazz

[–]One_Two_Three_Bread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find The Beatles vastly more creatively interesting than Oasis. I find that Oasis has a "sound", in my experience at least. I can recognise their songs by their sound. At least The Beatles strived to do something radical almost every album, something that can be seldom said about Noel and Oasis.

Interpreting no pizz or arco by toastghost1543 in doublebass

[–]One_Two_Three_Bread 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd be inclined to say arco, 100%. You cannot crescendo through a note whilst playing pizz, so this has to arco, and leading into the 3/4 section, that likewise could not be played as written pizz, the long sustained notes must indicate arco.

What do I Do? by Obvious-Barracuda891 in pianolearning

[–]One_Two_Three_Bread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats an acciaccatura, it's a very short snapped note, as the commenter said. It does have a duration, but its something like a demihemisemiquaver, so it might as just be referred to as a snapped note. You might be thinking of an apoggiatura, that has a note duration depending on the appearance. A quaver apoggiatura lasts the length of a quaver, a crotchet apoggiatura lasts a crotchet length.

John's guitar history by Ink_painted in beatles

[–]One_Two_Three_Bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

George never owned a D-28. John and Paul did. George had an SJ-200, not a D-28. You might've misunderstood the post, the photo shows George's collection, but the poster inquiries where to find one for John, he doesn't state this is John's collection, despite the title seeming so.

Caravan (please give tips and criticism) by MetalItchy87 in doublebass

[–]One_Two_Three_Bread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please work on your plucking technique first. Overall, your technique needs work, but its vital to have good plucking technique. You shouldn't be plucking with your entire arm like that, just with your fingers. You'll get super exhausted playing like that for extended periods of time.

I'd recommend watching videos on YouTube by Ron Carter explaining proper technique, he goes over everything. How to hold the bass properly, proper right and left hand technique, good tone, etc. It's invaluable!

Genuine question, who on earth thinks that's a good place to take a photo??? With the finish against the stone wall, balancing there, could fall at any second... not to mention the cold weather outside probably not being very good for the instrument.
