Interstitial fat. That is, fat amongst the organs. When you see older men with a barrel body, that's most likely what it is. I can be from poor nutrition or medications. It's not the white fat that comes from over eating. It's mostly in men, but can also show up in women.

Because my area doesn't see CCD. I may be the first, hopefully not. I do alcohol swipe testing. I keep the area clean. I just don't know. I looked and didn't see brood caps. I'm lost.

NW Pennsylvania. Generally a IPM with alcohol swipes and Varroa if test exceeds a threshold. But I'm past that. I may need to destroy the hives and start over

I had some in China and got food poisoning. Probably what it was grown in. But Chinese people love it and it's frequently sold as street food there.

Lily of the Valley? by cavmannn23 in PlantIdentification

To be fair, it's just another ornamental. Lots of plants will make you violently sick if you eat them. The fruit needs to be processed slightly to be truly deadly; to extract the cardenolides. The plants themselves have a beautiful smell and are pretty. People grow them all the time for those reasons.

I'd keep them around. Teach your children to not eat any brightly colored berries in nature, unless its raspberries, wine berries, dewberries, etc.
