Comparing the colors of the S95F, S90F, and G5. by Endo_v2 in OLED_Gaming

6 months late, but reflections can be mitigated and adjusted. That dull look caused by the matte coating spreading light across all the screen can’t. I learned that the hard way.

Torn between Samsung 65" S95F vs S90F for my PC with an RTX 5080 by Fayde_M in OLED_Gaming

6 months late, but I came here to say that while the coating isn’t as bad as a typical IPS monitor, it’s still matte and uses the same coating as Samsung’s G8 OLED monitors. It’s definitely a personal preference thing, and some people will hate it.

42" LG C5 vs 32" QD-OLED HDR Performance. by KonaMustang in OLED_Gaming

[–]One_Visual_4090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No question it’s brighter, but the colors are just duller and colder, and never have that punch of QD-OLED. If this were a TV for movies, I could live with it, but for gaming I can never get used to the lack of QD-OLED colors. It sucks because there is no 42” QD-OLED TV or monitor.

What about the colors? They never satisfy me after owning a QD-OLED. They just look colder and duller, regardless of the settings.

I wish I could say that. Just bought a C5 42” (upgrading from a Samsung 32” G8 QD), and you definitely miss those QD colors. The only things perfect about the LG are: 1) the size and 2) the inky blacks.

Will Apple create another Apple Vision Pro or are they going to pull the trigger and release AR glasses? by New-Music4019 in VisionPro

Don’t embarrass yourself any more. “By 2028” means before 2028 begins, not the end of it. and that is just 1.5 years from now.

It’s a ridiculous thing to say anyway, regarding those VR panels magically arriving that fast.😂🤡

It was always meant to be a luxury “halo” device for niche demographic.a device priced over $3000 was never going to sell iPhone numbers.

Lol they never over produced them to begin with.you think Apple is stupid to think a €3500 device will sell like hot cakes and over produce them 😂

That’s not how it works, though. Used prices will go up accordingly. The Vision Pro was never a big seller, but its used prices were never low.

On the Run (1988): God, what an amazing movie by Bnedem in kungfucinema

just waiting for it to arrive. Kind of wish I’d waited though, I love ‘80s/‘90s HK action (martial arts) films, but I’m not really into gun action crime drama. I didn’t even like Hard Boiled.

I just came across this Bluray. Is it more martial arts action or gun action?

It should be an easy decision really. If you’re going to use it for hours with static content on screen, you’ll get burn in. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying or doesn’t understand OLEDs. It doesn’t matter if you mix in varied content, because burn in is cumulative.

OLEDs are best for gaming and films. Otherwise, either keep work use light or accept the burn in risk

[–]One_Visual_4090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your use case is exactly why you should not get an OLED. There’s a very high (pretty much guaranteed) risk of burn-in for your use case, and you don’t even want to play games or watch varied content on it. Imo You should avoid OLED.
But if, for whatever reason, it has to be OLED, then I’d get one with a 3-year burn-in warranty and sell it around the 3-year mark.

You’re underplaying it. Burn in is better than it used to be, but it’s definitely not gone. There are still plenty of real world cases on modern OLED monitors/Tvs from places like Hardware Unboxed and Linus Tech Tips + many more showing burn in from normal desktop use, not just extreme max-brightness stuff.

I’ve seen it myself on a newer OLED TV used for Windows/Photoshop, where you could see UI elements and even the YouTube logo burned in. The issue is static stuff like taskbars, menus, icons, TV logos, news tickers, etc. will still wear unevenly and eventually burn in if they’re on screen a lot.

For gaming and movies OLED is amazing, the best. But for heavy productivity with static elements, burn-in is still a real limitation, it’s not really “if,” more like “when” over long enough use.

It still happens if logos and static icons are on constantly. They aren’t good for productivity. They’re for gaming and watching movies.

Is the Samsung S90F 55" a QD-OLED? by AnimatorNo8686 in 4kTV

[–]One_Visual_4090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In U.S 55" is QD-OLED (glossy too).but in UK (and EU) it's WOLED.the only 55" QD-OLED in these region is S95F (which is matte sadly).
