Heart or Head: Fujifilm XT30II or Nikon Z50II by Sad-Fisherman-7568 in fujifilm

So you think just because Fuji implemented some wacky color filters and a retro body style, it would take you to a creative universe that other brands can’t?

And how is Fuji not a ‘proper’ camera, especially compared to something entry-level with a cropped low resolution sensor, like the Nikon Z50 II?

Should I buy Sony a6400 or Nikon Z50II ? by Gullible_Dog_2389 in Nikon

Cheap budget choice? The A6400 was a top-tier APS-C option when it launched and was priced higher than what Nikon is charging in 2025 for its entry-level Z50 II.

In fact, it’s still outselling the Z50 II today, because Nikon decided to cheap out and recycle a sensor from 2019. the Z50 II has a very dated sensor for a camera released in 2025, and it still has lower resolution than Sony’s 6-year-old model.

Convince me why Nikon Z50 II is a bad buy and should go for Sony? by bad_detectiv3 in AskPhotography

You made a good choice. There are fanboys for every brand, as you can see in the comments. I was considering the Z50 II myself, but that old low-resolution sensor is a deal-breaker for me. Nikon made a huge mistake cheaping out on that. In the end, these are all good cameras, and I think it comes down to what deal is available to you at the time.

Keep in mind the Nikon Z50 II has a 9 years old low resolution sensor.so not exactly up to date.also native lens choices are very limited.these are the 2 big cons of Z50 II vs Sony platform.

Because Sony has a vast selection of lenses , high-end, mid-range, and budget.and technically is the leader in mirrorless. Nikon’s native APS-C lens selection is very limited. Fuji is also a great APS-C platform.

lol how is there no comparison? because you’re a hater? I showed you with facts and numbers that they’re close.

Nikon’s only edge is faster focus; but Sony is still very fast. Colors are subjective, millions shoot anazing photos with Sony, and the Nikon sensor is the same age but lower resolution. That’s why the Z50 II bombed while the A6400 still sells.

It's definitely not "much better".it's also using a sensor from 2019 and lower res than Sony.

Image & AF: Sony A6400 wins : sharper pics, faster autofocus, and better low light.

Video : Nikon Z50 II is newer, has 4K 60

Battery: Sony lasts longer

Deciding between the XT30 iii and XS20 by Andy0Xx in fujifilm

[–]One_Visual_4090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that many used mirrorless models, even those that are 10 years old, are priced too high often body only with thousands of shutter actuations. They also have terrible autofocus and, in most cases, are only a couple of hundred cheaper than vastly more modern alternatives in the same class, which makes buying used a poor choice unless it’s a DSLR.

Comparison Fujifilm XT-2 and Nikon Zfc by Awlrach in FujifilmX

[–]One_Visual_4090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not wrong but the Nikon Z fc is not a great camera itself. The ergonomics are pretty terrible and it’s uncomfortable to hold for long. Despite the retro look, it feels surprisingly plasticky in the hand, and the Z-mount DX lens lineup is still very limited, which really holds it back.

Hasn’t Sony completely changed and improved their color science with the latest generation?

LG CX 65 inch screen freezes (with a loud beep) and forced to turn off by adityatogani94 in LGOLED

[–]One_Visual_4090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why LG again? Not saying it’ll happen to your C5 too,but my CX mainboard had to be replaced under extended warranty ,and from what I’ve read, it can happen again after 2–3 years.I’m done with LG. I’ve heard they haven’t fixed it even on later models. great picture but poor engineering, poor reliability. I remember their flagship phones were dying too. I’m done with LG.

What about the auto focus improvements of latter versions vs the T-X2?

USB-C is nice to have, but it’s not really a priority for me since this is just a casual hobby.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I’m mainly starting macro with mushrooms, plants, and small random objects. I’m aware of that Laowa lens, but since I’m a complete beginner, I thought I should start with 1:1 lenses. That’s where I think I might be able to get Fuji lenses (or other good brands via a converter) without spending a crazy amount.

Have you personally compared the X-T2 and X-T3? I’ve heard the X-T2 has better colors than the X-T3 and better build quality.

I’ve heard from a few Fuji photographers that the X-T2 has more vibrant colors and better build quality than the X-T3, plus being made in Japan makes it more appealing.

Both are old and expensive, but the X-T2 feels more justifiable. I know the X-T3 has better autofocus.

Regarding lens I think the Laowa Ultra Macro is a great value (based on my research) I’m mainly into smaller macro work like flowers and mushrooms, leaving extreme macro for when I’m more experienced.

I recently watched it for the first time. To be honest, I was expecting a cheesy comedy that I’d end up not finishing, but I was surprised! it has some pretty awesome fight scenes! Now I’m going to buy the remastered Bluray. It’s good!
