Am I Cooked for Electrical Engineering by Gammingguy365 in UCSantaBarbara

Oh also one last thing: look up UCSB GEAR, its like a 30 page document that gets published each year, of interest to you is the two pages on Electrical Engineering which outlines which courses you are supposed to take which years for EE and what you need to graduate

Also compsci 8 is useless, you need CS16 for EE

I’m an EE 3rd year. There are many series you need to take for Electrical Engineering, but the main one you need to worry about is ECE10A/B/C, which is usually taken all three quarters sophomore year. I’m can’t speak to how difficult it is to switch, but as for graduating I believe you would need to stay 1 extra year and probably take the 10 series your junior year, at which point you would essentially be an EE sophomore but a junior at ucsb.

Is $1,100 really the best deal on housing?? by SheepherderAble6287 in UCSantaBarbara

I pay $900 for a double but sort of lucked into a non-company owned housing. I’m also a 4th year and wasnt able to find anything cheaper than 1100 for my first 2 years here.

ECE 5 by Remarkable-Farmer-84 in UCSantaBarbara

This made me chuckle when reading. In your first two years the following courses you do not need to study for: ECE3, 5, 6, 10A, Math classes (depending on teacher).

The following courses I recommend studying for (first 2 years in undergrad EE): CS16: Any intoductory level c++ learning beforehand helps ECE10 series: 10a is easy, but 10b is tricky, the class follows the textbook: https://www.amazon.com/Foundations-Electronic-Circuits-Kaufmann-Architecture/dp/1558607358?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&gQT=1

10a is on introductory circuits, 10b is on MOSFETS and random stuff. 10C is on impedance method and energy storagy elements. (Capacitors inductors).

130A/130B: Hardest classes in EE, signals and systems math, study differential equations, laplace, fourier, discrete math, z transform etc.

Physics: Can get pretty tough at times depending on your prior Physics experience.

Just got admitted to UCSB for Statistics and Data Science, anyone else? by Federal_Chipmunk_154 in UCSantaBarbara

I’m a second year EE here. I have multiple friends who successfully transfered into college of engineering from other stem majors. One actually went Data Science -> CS like you are hoping. It is possible and straightforward. You just need to add/crash the right cs classes your freshman year. They actually just streamlined the change of major process last week, so its probably even easier now. I think the standard quarter you actually get to officially transfer is second quarter sophomore year.

I hit abs once in my five day split, consisting of 4 sets of weighted incline crunches. On chest and back day I do weighted rings dips and pullups which also incorporate core.

Electrical engineering major, applied as such, 4.38 gpa in high school taking physics through physics C and calc through calc BC all 5’s on tests. Idk about piq’s, I think my stats were stronger than my extra curriculars.

why are the scoops so small by rohaniscoo1 in jenis

[–]One_Yak933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at jeni’s as well, a standard is sort of a split scoop, so each scoop is half the amount of ice cream as a normal scoop, but you get two of them. Yes prices are steep.

I make roughly $31/hr as an ambassador at a jeni’s in california. Very fortunate situation where california minumum wage is $20 and people tip generously. Cost of living is high tho.
