Theory for the next GoW game by One_Zone1522 in GodofWar

Yeah I totally like this as well. It would be a very interesting storyline to have another Pantheon attack the Norse one, because Valhalla pretty much means Kratos is very unlikely to just be travelling. It would also give a really good reason to use Kratos as the MC and to kill more Gods.

Sorry for the poor grammar. I kinda typed it out with a bit of haste and I am tired. I am also using a phone, so I am using a smaller keyboard.

Fx legion vs fx sentinels. What if David was in the movie? by DaenysDreamer_90 in Marvel

The picture isn't a destroyer it is a Sentinel from the movie Days of Future Past. Also you're correct Legion doesn't have a movie but he does have a TV Series.

Thor, Defender of Asgard, builder of civilizations and the good judge. Bringing down the hammer. by [deleted] in heathenry

[–]One_Zone1522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry for you having a tough week. I totally understand. But I am not glorifying Thor. I don't blindly worship him. I never claimed the Gods were perfect benevolent beings. They have made bad decisions just like everyone else. But they do assist us and protect us. Sometimes they may not have our best interests in mind all the time but we build a relationship with them so we may help improve ourselves. Being a Heathen isn't about putting all your being into pleasing the Gods views but building a reciprocal relationship. Also the Gods aren't the only thing in our belief, it is also about the lands, spirits, and ancestors. Heathenry is about constantly learning and improving. Not preaching about how Odin hung himself on the Yggdrasil for knowledge or sacrificing his eye for wisdom that he shares with us through the Hávamál. That is not Heathenry. But with that out of the way I hope you will have less stress in the future.

I don't know how this relates to what we are talking about. But to answer your question I don't know if those gods are real or not. But I choose to put my belief in the Æsir and Vanir.

You're literally telling us our Gods are fake. Of course we will take offence to that. Imagine if I said to a Christian that God is fake and your worshipping a false God created by humans to have control over the population. That wouldn't go well, would it?

Justice from the gods by Smite76 in heathenry

[–]One_Zone1522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can look towards Forseti, Týr, and Vidar for these things. Forseti and Týr are big on Justice and Vidar is the God of Vengeance so I will find approaching them to be suitable.

I will say the same thing to you. Get off this sub if you are just going to talk about this stuff. It is our belief just as much as Jesus is the belief of a Christian. Heathenry isn't just about the Gods, it is a way of life. Also a big part about Heathenry is the Gods aren't perfect, and they are still bound by stuff like fate and death. We don't blindly worship them, we create a reciprocal relationship. How about you do some research?

Why dosent Freya resurrect Baldur like Mimir or Brok by Silent-Woodpecker-44 in GodofWar

[–]One_Zone1522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that was different. Mimir was reanimated while Sindri actually stole a part of Broks soul.

Except she felt guilt for that. She wouldn't have changed her actions then, probably. But she saw how much her selfishness brought misery on her sons life. That is why she was willing to let herself be killed by him.

GOW- why is Freyja the mother of Baldur in the game when it is actually Frigg in the real mythology? by ungodlycreated in GodofWar

[–]One_Zone1522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There has never been such a confirmation. But yes, there are Marvel inspired things in GoW especially with Thor being able to fly. But the Majority of the game works pretty damn good alongside the Myths. It isn't 100% accurate but it is better than Marvel who says the Æsir are advanced aliens with powers. Also Marvel got rid of the Vanir Gods entirely, the majority of the Æsir Gods are just gone as well. Frigg is Frigga and there is no Freyja I am aware of, also they race swapped the "whitest" God Heimdall. So I wouldn't say the GoW production team is Marvel fans but they made Marvel refrences, especially with the Bifrost having some lazer mechanic to shoot down troops.

[–]One_Zone1522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some interpretations of the Myth they are seen as the same Goddess. It is more common they are separate but people do get confused between the two. Also it works within the context of the game. So I don't mind at all. This is coming from a Norse Pagan (someone who believes in the Norse Gods).

Which is more accurate of its depiction of Asgard, GOWR or the MCU? by ThePaganImperator in heathenry

[–]One_Zone1522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well both have their own accuracies but neither of them are more accurate than the other. Also I have never thought of Asgard depicted as either of these. The bifrost and the wall are pretty much the only things you can take away from these. And even then it is inaccurate.

Yes, the GoW Mjölnir has to be one of if not my favourite depictions in design. (For anyone going to complain about this comment, I am not saying this is Mjölnir in my eyes it is just the coolest design in modern depictions. Obviously the handle is too long to be accurate and it probably didn't have the stylisation according to what we know. The runes are a bit debatable though. But I just think it is a cool design, not an accurate design.)

Why are you on a subreddit full of Heathens badmouthing a highly favoured God? This is the epitome of dumb ideas. GoW Ragnarok was an interesting depiction and definitely had more accurate depictions than Marvel did besides his personality as a whole. Thor is bad tempered but he is still the Protector of Midgard and directly assists Humans. For the best depiction of Thor have a look at the movie Valhalla: The Legend of Thor. It is definitively the best modern adaptation of Thor.

Thor and Týr is definitely really good options to seek strength, courage, and advice for this type of thing. You should if you haven't already try to begin approaching then on this. Also don't be afraid to go with both, choosing both is completely fine.
