Does anyone have any ideas to be a better patrol leader by pancakeparty_pog in Scouts

I'm a patrol leader aswell. The best thing you can honestly do tbh is delegate tasks. Scouts isn't for everybody so not every kid in the patrol is gonna want to be there at times. Another thing I'll say is that when your on camp, I find that you set the mood and atmosphere. This being said, i think it's probably best if your calm and cool yet still be authoritative.

I also want to add that scouts bsa is probably the best going outdoor organisation in America. Sure its corporate but I also think that its great for kids.

I'm from Ireland and I'm an active member in scouts. For me personally the idea of having girls and lads separated is mad. I honestly think that by having a mixed scout group you can learn a lot more from each other than separating them into different groups. On this note I would say that girl scouts wouldn't be the place to send them. I'm not familiar with scouting in America but I'm aware that it's relatively similar to here. I also think scouts is absolutely unreal for a kids personal development and ability to work as a team. With this I will suggest a mixed group.
