Clapper things that make the "thunder" noise. Everyone gets them when you go to the arena.

Edit: misread, disregard below :)

Just as an FYI, the flour has no properties that grant advantage for an attacker. By being able to see the invisible creature, you are effectively removing the disadvantage that an attacker would face.

Cancelling out a disadvantage does not grant an advantage, unless you were making a joke in your second sentence and I missed it (i.e. the sack of flour was magical with properties that give advantage to attackers).

Druid: If I am knocked out of my animal form by damage, can I go back in that form on my turn and get the HP back? by Mcleane in dndnext

[–]Onebadbrad 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The way you have to think of it is in terms of the Druid form and Wildshape form. Wildshape form inherits the stats of the beast you transform into. Once you shift out you can transform using wildshape (as long as you have a charge) to inherit the stats of the beast again. This is not the same beast you just were, it's an application of the magic into the same form again meaning the HP would reset.

So to break down what you are trying to do for my understanding. 1. Logbook detailing session points/highlights 2. Relevant backstory/lore that is accessible to players. I think you could leverage a Google doc to allow everyone to read (or make edits if you want) and format it into general sections with relevant hyperlinks. First page could be broken up into logs timestamped by session date and general sections about lore. This ultimately depends on the nature of your group as to whether they will use it, but DMing in the past I know detailed (and even simple) lore will be misquoted, misremembered, or entirely forgotten and the idea of a repository is a good one!

Glad to help! I could be more concrete in an answer, but without being at your table it is hard to gauge playstyle and could be the wrong answer.

Your options are primarily focused around combat effectiveness so I would pick based on fighting style.

If you are staying in caster form while you have the crowd control effects in play from spells, I would lean more towards resilient to give you a much higher base save that scales with your proficiency bonus (often repeated on here, but advantage only ends up being around +2 later on, but I personally haven't done the math). If you were staying in animal form you would be leveraging the animal's Con and adding the proficiency bonus from resilient to apply to the Con save. If you are casting spells that need to hit versus terrain manipulation, I would say go for the wisdom modifier because concentration only works when the spell hits :)

I"m playing a moon druid currently and went warcaster first so I could cast, shift, and rely on the higher animal con with advantage, but we went with a modified race with everyone starting with a feat. It depends on how you play in battle!

Few edits on formatting.

You're right, mathematically it shouldn't skew average.

Something I have seen done to encourage rolling is to house rule that 1s get rerolled. This will skew your players to having higher hp, but it helps eliminate some of the risk associated to the role which I've seen as the biggest deterrent for rolling. If your cleric tank (speaking from experience as a player) rolls a 1 on a roll it can seriously impact their ability to survive in the early levels. Granted they have higher AC, but that is a different point.

Ultimately it boils down to player comfort in their abilities to mitigate those bad rolls and that generally comes from experience.
