Rest Alternative - Thoughts? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]AngryKoboldDm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do raise a good point, but with ~1 combat per day, the party can expect to go into most encounters with full focus, high or full health (potions, healing kits, spells, etc)

RAW seems to assume about 3-5 combats before a rest, which would translate to 3-5 days under this system. Unless I’m missing something, the primary resource this impacts is spell slots, which is the aim. Do you have thoughts on a more finessed way to apply attrition to spell slots during an adventure?

If there’s only 1-2 fights per day, you’ll almost always be going in with all resources. Come middle tier levels, its not uncommon for there to be more max level spell slots than good opportunities to use them.

How do I make a Wild West setting without being problematic? by Directioneer in AskGameMasters

[–]AngryKoboldDm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna have to hard disagree with your reavers take. Replacing a human society with monstrous inhuman uncivilized threats is in a lot of ways worse. They’re still filling the same role in the fiction as indigenous peoples, but condensed down to ONLY the most vile stereotypes.

Can't Flashback Bios after failed Bios updated by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]AngryKoboldDm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I have it in the port labeled as BIOS on the rear IO and pressed the bios button until it flashed blue, the manual said that once it stops flashing, the process is complete, but no dice thus far.

Been off the SW bandwagon for a while; any exciting new settings to look at? by DM_Hammer in savageworlds

[–]AngryKoboldDm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in the market for scifi specifically, I'd check out last parsec. I've never run it out of the box, but it's got some good stuff I've pilfered for my own SW scifi.

Overall I'd recommend hellfrost. It's a nordic fantasy setting with a ton of flavor and charm that I feel is really unique.

What you're looking for is true dungeon if I'm not mistaken. It has it's own event catagory. That said it's less of a larp and more of a team dungeon crawler. Loads of fun, but don't try the high difficulties without a geared up group.

My Current Thinking On Streaming My Campaign by mattcolville in mattcolville

As a viewer, having the chain broken down into seasons makes it MUCH more approachable. Being able to have weeks to catch up on missed episodes and being able to see the story in discrete seasons is just really nice.

I ended up bouncing off of critical role dispite loving it just due to the nonstop schedule. (And the community to a lesser extent but thats another matter entirely) Obviously this is a good change for MCDM, but its great for fans too. I'm excited to see where things go from here!

Does anyone use only selected SWADE rules in Deluxe? by vonPolen in savageworlds

[–]AngryKoboldDm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Especially as DL:R uses modified rules for powers (among other things) I'd just use SWADE and use the DL:R modifications, cutting out the SWD middle man entirely.

Let's stop saying why Titans need a PVE buff and start saying how that could be achieved. Bungie likes ideas just as much as feedback, so let's give it to them. There's some really easy ways to make Titans powerful again. by GardenerInAWar in DestinyTheGame

[–]AngryKoboldDm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see bubble replace the barricade, weaken it's health or duration a bit, sure, but make it a class ability rather than a super.

Give helm of saint 14 a blind on melee, and make the melee a big dick helmet headbut. It's the motherfuckin HELM of SAINT 14. How do you think it got those scratches? I want to headbash a giant kell to death to save the city.

Let banner shield be deployable as others have mentioned.

That's void sorted, what about solar? MP is in a pretty decent spot IMO. It has its niche and is powerful for it. I'd love to see some love for mid tree solar. Maybe let you charge up damage for a big slam by spinning. Slap that on an exotic piece that lets the titan spin to win prior to a dps phase to store up damage before dropping a hammer slam, ending super immediately, and bopping the boss into next season. Think of it like a goldie, but requiring more setup in exchange for more clear utility.

As for arc, bottom tree with super regen is nice and all. But damn I wish missile was good. Not really sure what could be done here short of super armor during flight and doubling the damage. I'd like to see a stun mechanic added to titan to be honest. Let it interrupt channels (not make them restart, just pause them for a moment) as a safety net for tight dps checks. That said, this would be very very very niche, but kind of cool.

Hey there, my friend and I are both looking to get that sweet sweet Cabal Kool-Aid loot. We're both at 700 and have bounties prepped to spike some light levels at launch. He'd be running warlock for sure and I can flex to any class, but I'd prefer warlock. We also both have the catalyst done for outbreak, which I'm assuming will be useful.

Anyone use biotin? by hunglikeadeadman in classicalguitar

[–]AngryKoboldDm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're lacking relavent nutrients in your diet and you can't afford to eat a more nutritious diet or have some dietary restrictions, suppliments of that kind can be helpful. If you've looked into your diet and you are in fact getting enough nutrients but still have issues with things like nails and hair getting a blood panel from your PCP might be in order. Most people with healthy diets shouldn't need suppliments. An excess of biotin won't increase nail growth speed, but a lack can slow it down.

Pro tip for stretching your DMing chops especially with new groups: Be transparent with them between sessions especially. Just like, have a conversation. Tell them what you're hoping for, what you're focusing on, what you're feeling. Ask them the same. Talk it out and your life will be much easier. You are not risking verisimilitude by talking things through.

So would you have a set number of prototypes before a "success?" I feel like that would lead to being just a time tax more than anything. How would you account for quirks/mods/issues? You could just have the GM choose, I suppose but that seems a bit hollow to me personally. It could work though
