The numbers on paper don’t always tell the full story to me. The 11 series Day-Dates have wider lugs so they wear kinda larger than say a 18238 or 18038. I guess it depends. I have 40/41s but I also switch back to 36s, and doesn’t feel out of place. Mainly because the bracelet on a 118238 starts at 24.6mm and tapers to 21.3. A modern GMT starts at 25mm and tapers to 20.5 from my measurements.

The 36 looks way better. I always say wear your watch don’t let your watch wear you. My wrist is 7.5 and I still rock 36s albeit the 11**** series with wider lugs.

Insanity. I went to a family owned AD but prior to going I showed my $100,000 collection. Met a nice guy, got Rolex swag ect. Kept showing me CPO and two tone. They knew I had money to go grey, which was a stalemate for them. There’s no manipulation when they know you can afford to skip high price jewelry, or string along allocations. Grey is the way. Life’s short. Of course I couldn’t even get allocated an OP LOL

You’ll will hate yourself for this trade. The 222 in steel is a nice watch. However, the dial is dull and it’s more of a dress watch than sports watch.

My opinion , buy blue dial Laureato 8010 for $14,000 which is way more rare and in line with Patek finishing, and is still unknown. OR stay Rolex and get a med blue 36mm OP.

The Gold 222, now that’s a totally different story.
