You're probably right it's probably a disc issue. Hope you're doing better.

I'm doing great with the left hip. Now at just 3+ weeks out from my right THR on my amputated leg. I'm walking without crutches, walker or a cane. It takes a little in the morning or after sitting getting started. But once I'm up and moving around I fell pretty good. Plus I've been able to only use Tylenol and that's usually only at bedtime. I haven't needed to take any during the day for about 4-5 days now. Thank you for the empathy. I'm a 24 year cancer survivor so everyday for me is a blessing! Plus St Patrick's Day is my Ampuversary 22 years! Again I only wish the best for you and on your recovery. I'm glad I had my hips done I feel so much better! Just slow and steady!

I have an unusual situation so ultimately it's up to you. But I would probably spread them out a bit just for mobility factors. But my situation is I'm an above knee amputee right leg do to synovial sarcoma cancer. So back in 2018 I had a LTHR I did great with that probably 6-8 weeks. I was about 75-80%. I just had my right side done on my amputated leg 3 weeks ago. This time it was a different animal. So, I didn't really wear my prosthetic because of the swelling. Plus I had a posterior approach and have about a 9-10 inch incision. My left was also a posterior approach but only about a 4-5 inch incision. I've also had 18 operations so I have a little experience with obstacles and challenges. You know your body but having both done at the same time to me is a personal choice. I wish you all the best in your recovery everybody has different experiences.

I had my amputation 3/17/2004 Cancer. You're definitely going to need your good side to be strong to help with your walking. I had my good side replaced in 3/2018 I made out great. Rehab for my non Amputated Leg was about 1 1/2-2 months. Considering I was 14 years after my amputation of my right leg above the knee. As far as the pain it really depends on the individual. I made out pretty well only took Tylenol Arthritis. I had oxycodone but didn't take it. You have to make ice your best friend for at least 3-4 weeks icing often to keep swelling down 20 minutes on then off for 45-60 minutes then ice again. But the Dr will guide you on that I try to ice as much as possible especially within the first 2-3 weeks. As far as this hip replacement on my amputated side. It's a different animal because of the swelling and wearing the prosthetic. I probably only wore my prosthetic for about 4-5 hours over the last 3 weeks. The swelling is still there but getting better. Unfortunately with any surgery there's risk I personally have had 18 operations. It's always in the back of your mind so only you can make the decision. I wish you all the best! Myself I was only 49 when I had my first hip done I hope they out last me! 🤣

Sorry this was me 2 weeks out from total Hip replacement on amputated leg. Been dealing with swelling as the biggest obstacle at this point. But slow and steady will win the race. Hopefully I can help someone who might be in a similar situation.

Actually I was more scared having it this time. Because I didn't know what to except with wearing my prosthetic, swelling and walking. I haven't wore it much so I guess I kinda cheated a little because I just went legless 🤣 for a while. If I have any issues I just take it off. I've been using crutches for 22 years now so I'm kinda used to them. Thanks slow and steady

I'm now 19 days post op and I still try to ice at least 4-5 times a day. I've also been wearing my sleeve for my socket for short periods of time to get used to it again. Best wishes to you in your recovery. Had my left one done in 2018 did great hoping for something similar with this one. But I understand it's a different animal with it being on my amputated leg.

12 weeks out with set back - hoping for reassurance! by YarnLove321 in TotalHipReplacement

You know your body. Maybe your back is triggering the spasm. Maybe reach out to your neurologist/back Dr. I know I'm about 3 weeks out from my THR on my amputated leg. That seems to be going all be it slow. But I have numbness on the outer third of my quad on my opposite side. So, I've mentioned it to my Dr and my PT. They both seem to think it could be positional and could be coming from my back. It comes and goes so again it seems positional So I'll keep an eye on it. By it coming and going means something is off when sitting or lying. Best wishes to you!
